Consulate Review: Chennai, India
Review Topic: Direct Consular Filing
Event Description
Review Date : June 13, 2008
Embassy Review : When I did the review in the past it was actually for the I-130 delivery in Delhi and the information did not match up, (it showed Chennai) and I could not figure out how to change it in the system! The experience we had on April 3rd was great!! Please do a search in the India or DCF forums for a complete review of the steps, process, etc. for the Chennai interview. We went DCF, but it should compare for anyone doing a CR1/IR1 process. Good luck!
Rating : Very Good

POE Review: Detroit
Event Description
Entry Date : 2008-05-19
Embassy Review : Hmmm, Detroit was interesting. The people were quite friendly, but the system did not seem to have a very smooth process. We both went to the visitor's entrances as instructed by several people in Red Coats. We waited in line with hundreds of other tourist visa holders until we finally reached a Homeland Security Officer who was very friendly and confused that we were in his line. He did an initial screening of information and then sent us to the special cases line. We then went back to that line (we were told earlier that we could NOT go in that line)and waited another 30 minutes. It looks as if everyone has to approach the visitors queues first, and then get referred to the special cases line - a long and cumbersome process (we landed before 1PM and got out of the airport around 3 or 3:30), but all the people were quite friendly. Once we got to the window with the officer, he was great and made the entire process end on a really nice note.
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
