So I was quite nervous but I had no reason to be.
Here's how it went.
So at the bottom of the building, there's a security guy catching you outside or in the in-between door and making sure you dont have prohibited objects such as a bag, a large purse, electronic devices(btw if you have a cell you can leave it at the security checkpoint and take it back on your way out), ...
You go thru a airport-like security once in the building.
After that you go to the 19th floor and get a ticket at window 14(says cashier over it). I think I arrived too late, even tho it was 30 minutes before my schedule time. Im not sure but I think youre processed as you come in no matter what the time they put on your packet-4. So they give you a C-number and wait for the screen to display yours. Mine was c-11 for instance and when called I went to the window displayed on the screen.
The nice lady there asked me for my ds-156K, birth cert., police cert., affidavit of support, letter from my fiancee stating she was still wanting to marry me, self-addressed xpresspost enveloppe, medical(just the small enveloppe, not the xray) and thats it I think.
She gives you a paper and sends you back to cashier(window 14) to pay 131$USD, then you bring back the receipt to her.
She sends you back to the waiting room and eventually she calls you back to take your fingerprints with a little cute machine...
Then she says your name will be called.
thats when it was long for me.
Eventually you hear your name called in the speakers to go to room 8(or possibly 7) and you meet the officer. He makes you swear that, to the best of your knowledge, everything in your application is true. He asked me about where I met my honey, where she works what I do for a living...
He said "there's no medical condition of concern, should I know about any criminal things?" I said no.
My lawyer(if you can call her that) told me that the officer had the authority to issue me a employment authorization so I asked him to do that. He said only the officers at the point of entry had that authority. He explained to me where they'd put the visa in my passport.
He told me "Good luck down there in the US" so I assumed I was approved.
All around, I was treated promptly and with a lot of professionalism.
