Arrived very early, 9:30 a.m. for a 11:00 a.m. appointment. Went to cafeteria sat and talked, went out to put more money in parking meter. 10:30 am registered at window and had a seat. 10:55 our name was called and was greeted by the officer and escorted to her office. My wife was nervous and wanted her friend as an interpreter to join us if needed, I didn't think we needed her but my wife insisted. The officer asked for id's and her friend didn't bring anything, not even her drivers license (duh) so she wasn't allowed in. We were asked if we wanted an interpreter I said I don't think we need one and that I could interpret if needed, the officer said fine and had me sign a form. We were sworn in and she began verifying info on our application. I had all supporting docs in color coded folders with contents labeled on the outside. Any thing she asked for was in her hands in seconds and was very happy to see how organized everything was. She asked to see bank statements, pay stubs, employment letter, 2007 tax return, utility bills, and I also showed her insurance and retirement beneficiary statements. After that she said this interview is over, she stamped my wife's passport said we'll receive card in mail within 3 weeks and reminded us to file the I-751 3 months before her 2 year card expires, we were finished in 15 minutes. The officer was VERY FRIENDLY and patient and the interview was VERY pleasant. Took my wife out to diner to celebrate. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
