Consulate Review: Jamaica
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : January 1, 2024
Embassy Review : We were at the front of the line though we reached right at our appointment time. We only carried our paperwork and left everything else in the car though a family member came with us to watch our things in the car. Everything was seamless. The wait wasn’t long either. The consular officer was nice and gave us compliments. We received the K-1 visa six days after the interview.
Rating : Very Good

Hello, I am in the same boat as you. Just wanted to know if you've heard anything from NVC as yet?
Nyeomi on 2023-05-09 said:
Hello; unfortunately, I have not. I just sent another inquiry to NVC today. I will keep you posted. I appreciate you for reaching out!

I just found out you can send a scanned copy of your I-797 to NVCresearch@state.gov and they will contact USCIS on your behalf to locate your case.
Nyeomi on 2023-05-12 said:
Yes, but they'll only do that once it's been 60 days.
blank avatar Whitneyww211@gmai on 2023-05-26 said:
Hey any news yet?
Nyeomi on 2023-05-26 said:
Nope, and I've been inquiring every week.
blank avatar Whitneyww211@gmai on 2023-07-06 said:
I am hoping and praying by now you have a case number.
Nyeomi on 2023-07-06 said:
Yes, I did! Thank you. Have you? I need to update my timeline, since I just scheduled our interview.
blank avatar Whitneyww211@gmai on 2023-07-06 said:
Yay congrats! Not yet. NVC finally has our case but no case number yet?
Nyeomi on 2023-07-06 said:
Thank you! Keep inquiring. Yours should be shipped the next round then.
blank avatar Whitneyww211@gmai on 2023-07-06 said:
How many days did it take for you to receive the case number?
Nyeomi on 2023-07-06 said:
It took them 16 days (June 23), but I didn't receive it until they shipped our petition to the embassy this past Monday.

I hear the embassy only does K1 visas on Tuesdays. Our wedding is set for September but Im starting to get nervous that we will have to change it again.
Nyeomi on 2023-07-06 said:
Yes, that's correct. Our interview is for August 22, and there was one open for August 29.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
