Consulate Review: Argentina
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : July 24, 2024
Embassy Review : It took around 1 hr and a half, but its more wait than what it takes to do the interview. They give you a folder with the order they want you to put the documents. Then they call you to give the documents needed (if you took the package to the consulate with the copy of the documents and 2 photos 5x5 its not necessary to take other copies and pics on the day of the interview). After looking at the documents they tell you, to wait for an interview with the consul.
The Consul will make you some questions, in my case was how we met, wich year, if he worked online, when did our relationship started and what was the last time I saw my boyfriend.
The interview was in english, but the Consul will ask you if you are confortable in english or not.
Rating : Very Good

If you don't mind me asking, what RFE's were requested?

Of course I don't mind, they requested evidence for intent to marry and bona fide intent to marry

If you don’t mind me asking. From when you got the notice from NVC, how long did it take for the Consulate in Argentina to give you an interview date?
blank avatar María Florencia on 2024-06-18 said:
I don't mind, after getting the notice from the NVC, first you have to fill the DS160 form, which can be made as soon as you get the notice because its online, then you have to log into the consulate website and make the payment, once you pay you can choose the available dates, in my case it was around 2 months of wait, I have my appointment on July 22nd. There were earlier dates, all during July, but the date I chose was the earliest I could go to.

Thank you for your quick response. We received the letter from NVC (early May) with our status changed to READY. But there was a mistake in the Consulate showing Madrid instead of Buenos Aires so our attorney make the request to get it changed to Buenos Aires. Madrid replied but we are waiting on the consulate in Buenos Aires and it’s been more than a month already. I was curious if maybe there was delays in the Consulate but seems like you got your appointment quickly. Thank you

That's very unfortunate, one is always expecting the day of the interview, I can imagine the stress when you found out the mistake. Hopefully it will be solved soon. Good luck and my best wishes for you both!!

Thank you. One more question. Before logging into the consulate website and making the payment. Did you receive an email letting you know that you were good to schedule the interview? How long did that email take from when you received the notice from NVC?
blank avatar María Florencia on 2024-06-25 said:
No, you log in, pay and book a date and time for the interview there is nothing in between you just have to make sure to have all the papers needed for that day, it is all in the NVC notice, they should have sent an attachment explaining everything you need.

Congratulations on your interview. If you don’t mind, how much did you pay for the medical exam? That way we more or less know what the cost will be.
blank avatar María Florencia on 2024-07-24 said:
Depends on what you need, in my case I had all the vaccines, so I only needed to do the blood exam and the torax X- ray. At the time the dr alone was $60.000, the torax X-ray was $14.900 and the blood exam was $4.700, of course all is in argentine pesos. So everything was $79.600.

Thank you so much. This is good to know, I was worried it would be too expensive. Congrats once again. Hopefully soon we will be celebrating as well.

Thank you!! I hope so too, I wish the best for the both of you!!

Hi, we finally got an interview date. And I have a follow up question on the medical. My fiancé is having a hard time contacting the doctors office, only to find out one is on vacation. Did you call, email or go by the office to request your appointment? Thank you.
blank avatar María Florencia on 2024-08-29 said:
Hi, so glad that you have a date for the intrview, congratz!! Well about the doctors, one I called (the male dr) the lady that answered me told me to send and e-mail cause the doctor was very busy. So I sent an e-mail, but since I wanted an answer pronto, I sent a text to the female doctor, who answered very fast and told me that I needed to have, and then asked when I had the interview and then gave me an appointment. Everything is done in that same day (at least with the female dr is like that) and she is the one who takes the results to the embassy. So don't despair, everything will go just fine.

Once again, thank you for your help. Now we know, we will text the female doctor directly. Thank you so much!!!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
