Hello. I have a question. Did you have to wait for packet to make an interview? Was your packet sent via mail or email?
Carolina Y Chris on 2023-04-15 said:
Hi! We waited until receiving the packet. Our lawyer advised us to do so, but I think I’ve seen others who scheduled theirs before receiving the packet. We received our packet through email

Hi how are you my fiance is from venzuela and she is going for her k1 interview in bogota. We are just curious how did you pick up your vÃsa after the interview? What did you select for the mailing address after completing the DS160? Also for the interview do you know if it was okay to just use tax transcript from the IRS that had the sensitive information hidden

Hello! We just completed our interview today and were approved but we have to wait for the visa in the mail now. They told my fiancé she should receive an email in about 4 days and I believe that will tell her where to pick it up. As far as the taxes, I submitted my tax returns from the previous year (not transcripts from the IRS) but the person doing the interview didn’t look at them at all according to my fiancé

Congratulations! My fiancé’s appt. Is soon. Was the wait time long? And if you don’t mind me asking. What type of questions did they ask?
Carolina Y Chris on 2023-05-04 said:
Thank you!! The wait was not too bad. Her appointment was at 7:45am but was called for the actual interview part closer to 8:45am. She arrived just before 7am and they called her to check-in and show some documents. Then was told to go wait for the interview in the waiting room
Questions were all very basic such as,
1. When do you meet
2. How did you meet
3. What is my profession (petitioner)
4. Where will we live
5. When was the last time we saw each other in person
I think there was maybe 7 or 8 questions total

hello my fiance's interview is next week. and we are preparing all documentation, for the birth certificates did your fiance translate them? can it be a copy or did it have to be original?
Did your fiance que the visa already? will like to have an idea if you are able to pick up or those it have to be mailed? we paid for courier but my fiance can stay a couple of days more and wait if possible to get visa.

Ginna, her birthday certificate was a copy. When she arrived for the interview the person she checked in with (not the person who did the interview) requested the original birth certificate and I got a little nervous. But the instructions say a copy is fine and the person doing the interview did not mention it being a problem. If you have the original I would bring it but it should not be an issue
If you don’t have the original, you’ll want to bring other documents like a baptism certificate. The instructions mention this. As far as picking up the visa, she did that today and I don’t believe they have her the option to have it mailed but I have heard others had theirs mailed so perhaps it depends on the person doing the paperwork I’m not sure but your fiancé can ask and I would think they will allow you to choose
