Our I-130 has been in "actively review status since March, 2022. We reached out to our State Senator recently. Her office is looking into our case. Our lawyer has also reached out to USCIS to confirm our case processing time. He will make an inquiry in December, 2022 to see where we are in the process.

Our lawyer sent a request on 1-24-23 stating our case was outside of normal processing time. USCIS responded to me from Lee Summit, MO on 5/11-23 stating our case is still being "actively reviewed" and nothing is outstanding at this time. If an interview is warranted they will schedule me an appointment to appear in person at a USCIS office. However, if USCIS officials decides to "waive" the interview requirement, our case will be adjudicated by a USICS field office in the order it was received.
On April 4th, I received an update on the status of my case from our State Senator's office. It was noted that our case has been transferred from Lee Summit, MO to the St. Louis, MO Field office. In other words, our case has not been in one of the five service centers(ie., Potomac, Vermont). The Senator's office went on to say that when they send it to a processing center it is expected to move faster. It is my understanding that the St. Louis office is waiting to select a field officer who can then make a final decision on our case.
I have not been able to update my timeline due to these unusual circumstances. So, I want to encourage everyone who is on the immigration journey to trust God and be patient, Because you will be walking around the "walls of Jericho" until the process is completed. My husband and I will be married 2 years in August. This new development has offered a ray of hope in an otherwise very long, very stressful process.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
