Comments : Administrative review was to request an original marriage certificate and divorce decree from the petitioner. Although they had a copy in the K-1 application submission, they wanted the beneficiary to bring a copy also. They also requested a legal document certifying that the beneficiary’s children could relocate to the United States, and that the permission of the father was granted. All the documents could be sent via email and a second interview was not required.

Event Description

Embassy Review : My experience at the US Embassy in Paraguay was very pleasant. The officer was very courteous and respectful to me and my children. I was asked the basic questions you would expect in a K-1 interview about my fiancé. These questions were easy for me because my fiancé has been in Paraguay with me for over 1 year. In addition to the documentation they request on the lists they send you will need to bring copies of your fiancé's divorce decree and prior marriage certificate if applicable. Even though your fiancé submits this with the application, they ask for this from you directly in the interview. I was not prepared for this and had to send it via email later. They also asked for a legal document showing the father of my children gave permission for them to live in the USA for their K-2 Visas. You will need to bring this with you to avoid any delays.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
