Embassy Review : |
Once NVC approved and shipped out case to BG, it took the embassy 3 days to receive it and about another 3 days to send me the instructions. From there on it was entirely up to me on when I would be ready to schedule the interview and the medical. There were enough available slots for interviews the current month and plenty for the medical.
I arrived 30mins early and they let me in. Left my phone, work pass, and earphones before I entered the main building. I was quickly called by a Bulgarian officer to collect all necessary docs and ask me some general questions about us and my previous visa. Then I had to wait around 20-30mins. I was then called by an American officer who made me swear before we started the interview. She already had the docs that we had submitted to USCIS a year prior to that together with the docs that I just brought in with me. She asked me about our relationship, how and when we met, how long we have been together, when was the last time that we saw each other, my time in the UK (doing my Masters degree), some trivial political/church questions and announced that my visa has been approved.
Overall it was a pretty quick and pleasant experience! |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
