Comments : I received a "blue letter" at the time of my interview because the police certificate I received via mail from Winnipeg police office was NOT ACCEPTABLE as a police clearance for a K1 visa, since I received it via mail OUTSIDE OF CANADA. For ppl outside of Canada you are supposed to get all 10 fingers fingerprinted from local police office and get it signed by the police dept, and send it to RCMP and apparently the wait time is 120days. OR.. visit Canada (if you are a citizen and still have family residing there) - this is the path I took and cost me a whole lot in terms of plane tickets... $2100 dollars round trip! :O - and get police clearance from places like international fingerprinting services and just get your name checked (I had to be physically there)
Went to Toronto, Canada - Apr. 10,2008
Came back w/ RCMP letter- Apr. 22,2008
Submitted letter, passport stamp, and plane tickets (to/from Toronto) to Seoul Embassy via courier service: Apr.22,2008
Bought plane tickets to Baltimore, MD for May 9,2008
Visa did NOT arrive (they said would only take a week) almost 2 weeks, got anxious and called on May 6, after a 5-day holiday weekend, and embassy said they hadn't reviewed it yet, it was lost under piles of paperwork (OMG!!!)
I pleaded that my plane ticket was May 9th and couldn't afford to cancel another plane ticket, so they promised to review it and approve it on May 7th and allowed me to pick it up myself at the consular office.
Thank God! Finally got my K1 visa!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
