I used Ask Emma on 18-OCT to find out our application was at Nebraska Service Center. We submitted online electronically and the first receipt (NOA1) had Texas indicated on the bottom, so we're unsure when it transferred.

FWIW.
Once I received my NVC welcome letter (email), it took 4 days before I could login with the ID numbers.
I paid the two fees, and then it took another 8 calendar days before the payments fully processed and the applications unlocked.

How long did it take for them to send you the email after your NOA 2 was approved. I have a similar timeline. Married 11/9/21. Filed May1st, 2022. Approved noa2 feb 16th. I am hoping I get the case numbers soon myself.

Hi Sudowpa2. Congrats on noa2! From approval, it took about 3 days to get my NVC email with case number and invoice number.
But it then took another 3 days before I could actually login with those numbers on the CEAC website.
I immediately paid the fees, and it took 6-7 days before the payments cleared on both forms and they were unlocked for submitting.
So my timeline was something like:
Jan 18 approval notice on ISCIS
Jan 21 NVC email
Jan 23 Able to Login to CEAC
Paid fees
Jan 30 able to submit both forms.

I am worried about doing everything so quickly because I would like for my spouse to enter the Untied States after Nov 10th to avoid having her get the conditional green card because you know all the other BS that comes along with it. I live here in Medellin with the wife, so speed is not an issue. Is that something you worry about?

Congrats on your interview date.
Surprised it took a month for the documents to be approved.on the website, it was around 17 days for approval.
Did you have any issues with the files uploaded to NVC? Any kick backs?
JamesYJessica on 2023-03-17 said:
I had no kickbacks from the NVC. During the NVC review process, my wife received a new passport. I reached out to the NVC via email about updating the application, but they said they couldn't change the DS-260, and to just bring the new passport to the consular interview.
Interestingly, although all my documents to the government have my wife's maiden name (to USCIS, NVC), the Interview Scheduled email came in her NEW name. So when registering the visa appointment on the consular website, I'm going to use her new name and new passport number. I'll let you know how well that goes :)

Luckily, my wife kept her maiden name and she just got her passport. She still has 9 years left on it.
I told her not to take my last name because it's horrible. Last name is Ball.
Thanks for the update. My main concern is the medical. My wife has no other shots than covid, so i am curious how Bogota handles the medical.

How are you handling the medical? How do they scheduled the medical just before the interview? Are you staying there after the interview to personally pick up the passport with visa because of how terrible the post office is in Colombia. I am not sure if I trust it completely.

Hi there!
Once we had the interview date, we contacted one of the doctor's on the approved list (my wife called them via WhatsApp). They asked for our interview date, then gave us a couple of options for medical dates between 1 and 2 weeks before the interview. We made the biometrics appointment using a link in the interview email for the day after the medical date we picked.
We are going to fly into Bogota, stay for 3 days to do the medical + biometrics, then fly back to my wife's home town of Medellin for 5 days. Then we are going to fly into Bogota 2 days before the visa interview.
We are planning on staying in Bogota to retrieve the passport afterwards (it seems to take 2-3 days based on other people's reports). Our interview is on a Wednesday, so we are REALLY hoping that the passport is available for pickup on Friday so we can fly to the US on a Saturday flight.
If the passport isn't ready on Friday, I'm guessing it won't be available until Monday, and we'll have to extend our stay at a hotel and re-book our flights. We really want to take the direct flight from Bogota to my hometown of Boston, but it's with Avianca and I know refunds and rescheduling with them can be a major pain.

We are going to stay at Aloft in Bogota for the visa appointment. The hotel is directly across the street from the CAS office (where the passport pickup will be after the interview), and close to the airport. That way, once we get the email that the passport is ready, my wife can run across the street and get it ASAP.

I was thinking about staying in Bogota through the whole time. Just seems to be a pain to fly anywhere these days and I rather be near the embassy or doctors just in case they need something. Organization is not a high priority for businesses in Colombia. For them to mess up on something or they missing documents. It would just be easier if we were there to fix any issues. I am thinking between the medical and interview and picking up thr visa. Around 2.5 to 3 weeks stay in Bogota. I am off to america soon to gather the documents from my joint sponsor just in case they are needed. I am not going to be heading to USA with my spouse until December. I have to close out the apartment and sell everything before we make that journey.
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
