Hi!
I was wondering what was the wait time to book an interview after sending off the packet 3? As I’ve been looking at other interview dates after packet 3 with Seoul embassy and it usually seems to be a month? But your timeline seems to be over a week. Would love to know!
Thank you!

Hi.
The embassy in Seoul emailed me that I can now schedule an interview this past Tuesday. There was no official wait time or anything. I could just go straight to book interview.
The interview slots were plenty as of Monday. All dates between 20 and 24 of March had available interview slots. I did see there was no slots for April. But they often open up new dates as you go.
I think people typically take more time than me because 1) they need to receive physical copy of I-134 from their US Citizen fiance DHLed to them 2) you need to book your medical and get the result before the interview. They don’t allow you to do medical unless you have already booked an interview. I took less time because Shinchon Severance Hospital had a lot of slots and they give you result in 7 days. Yeouido St Mary’s was really packed. I did my medical Wednesday and getting the result on next Wednesday and going to interview one day later.
I just can’t wait to be married asap after the 18+ month wait ordeal 😂

Thank you for the quick reply! 😄
That is brilliant news! I’m so glad to hear it wasn’t a 1 month wait. I was worried about the medical too but this is great info to be aware of!
Honestly I get that. We’ve got approved after 18+ months too. I would love to hear how the interview goes! Good luck!!

Hello, The interview went well and the interviewer was friendly. I was asked:
1. What is the name of my fiance?
2. What is his job?
3. Where does he live?
4. Have you ever been to U.S? (I said yes. I did my Ph.D. there)
5. What school did you go to?
6. How did you meet your fiance and when?
7. When did you meet him in person first time?
And the interviewer said congratulations. Your visa will be issued. That was yesterday (3/23/2023)
My CEAC status changed to issued this morning (3/24/2023) and the current status of my passport is getting transferred from the embassy to the delivery service provider (Ilyang Logistics). I opted for pick up from the Mapogu office because I need the passport earlier to travel abroad before entering the U.S. I think it will be available to pick up early next week (Monday or Tuesday).
I think it took about 10 mins from start to finish. But it took about 50 additional mins waiting in line, submitting my phone / smartwatch/ and car key, and the embassy staff collecting my documents. They let you in from 7:30am but I waited from 7:10am and I was second in line for an immigrant visa. (You have to line up in the immigrant visa section, not the non-immigrant)
Good luck!

That is wonderful news! I'm glad it went well.
Just to clarify... I could pick up the passport/visa instead of it being delivered to my address?!
That was one thing i was worried about as i may be moving out of my current place around the time of the interview.
Immigrant line? that leads me to wonder and ask did you fill the DS160 as immigrant or non-immigrant prior to the interview?
Thank you again for taking your time to reply! :D
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
