Consulate Review: London, United Kingdom
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 13, 2023
Embassy Review : I arrived at the Embassy for 8:20 and was told to wait until 8:30. I was allowed to skip the large queue outside that is for DS-160 and go straight to the front as I had the DS-260.

From entry to giving over my documents it was smooth. I was asked for Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, passport and Police Certificate. I was also asked for my husbands latest tax return which I was not expecting, thankfully however I had printed everything off and bought it all with me just in case.

After I submitted my documents it took nearly 2 hours for them to finally interview me. I believe this may have been staff shortage reasons as it seemed only one person was carrying out the interviews today. The interview was very straight forward and easy, took 5 minutes basically. I was asked how I met my husband, when we got married and where, what his job is. I was then approved on the spot. I hope this helps someone!

Congratulations! May I ask, did any factors influence the speed of your I-30 approval, or just normal route with quick turn around? Thanks!

Ha, same question as Eandy!

We applied for a K3 in October, that got denied the day after my approval and I believe that sped up my application.

Hi ND17, thank you for your answer. That is very promising for my wife and me. We filed July 5 2022, K3 on December 5. Thanks for your information.

I wasn’t aware of this. Do K3s tend to lead to quicker I30 turnarounds? Thanks!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
