Consulate Review: Bangkok, Thailand
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 20, 2023
Embassy Review : We got the listed documents in Packet IV and the Interview Letter from the e-mail. My wife's interview was scheduled for 8:00 AM. We got there at around 7:45 AM and she immediately checked in with them and went into the embassy. She came out at about 8:30 AM. My wife said the interview was only about 5 minutes and it only took a while since there was a number of people before her. They asked basic questions like what my ethnicity was, what my current job is, where did we meet, and where did I live. Very simple questions. The interviewer also asked my wife when she was planning on leaving and we were told that it shouldn't take longer than a week to get the passport and visa.
Rating : Very Good

Thanks for posting your case! Are both you and your spouse living together abroad, or is the petitioner in the United States?
blank avatar Hmoobphajej on 2022-10-18 said:
I am the petitioner and still living in the United States as we go through this process.

Hello, was your case CR-1 or IR-1? Thank you
blank avatar Hmoobphajej on 2023-05-03 said:
Hello, My case was a CR-1 since me and my wife have not been married for more than 2 years. The process is still the same.

You happen to have a full list of the questions? Or were they so basic it was easy to forget?
blank avatar Hmoobphajej on 2023-08-01 said:
Sorry Jankman55. They were so simple they were easy to forget. It seems from my wife's response every question that was asked was question they should know as a spouse. Jobs, Ethnicity, City of Residence, etc. I think they just wanted to make sure my wife knew things about me and we were really married.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
