Comments : Me and my fiancé arrived at the embassy for our 7:30 interview at 7am. We had to turn off our phones and then we entered the embassy. As soon as I handed over my passport and told them I was accompanying my fiancé they said I couldn’t and that I must leave. My fiancé asked if I could just wait inside and she said no and I asked if I could wait outside and she said yes of course. (Later it was revealed they had no lobby area or a space for you to wait so that may have been it but another person advised they were here the day before and he was allowed to sit and wait with their child. But they were not doing visa interviews that day). So I left and waited outside, my fiancé goes through the first security check, and they verified his passport with appointment time, took his phone and gave him a ticket to recover the phone. He and his items were scanned, he passed through and collected his stuff and went to the second security post, where they separated him based off his interview type and gave him a file with how to arrange his documents and what window number to go to. They called him to the window and he did his biometrics and they asked for his birth certificate, police report, DS-160, medical report, 1 passport photo, photocopy of passport and the I-134. Then he was given a paper about legal rights of immigrants in regards to domestic violence and told to read it while he waited. Then he was called up and did another set of biometrics, and was asked these questions.

Questions Asked
1. Did you read the document on Domestic violence?
2. What did the document say? ( White paper was given few minutes before I was called up to my window. This sounded like a trick question. If I hadn't read it, I would've been trapped. But I did and answered correctly.)
3. Who's inviting you to the United States
4. Under which occasion did you meet.
5. Inquired details about the way we met on FB
6. Where in the US will you live?
7. Do have any relatives in the united States
8. What are they're names?
9. Where do they live in the US?
10. Who was the first to initiate the relationship?
11. How long were you dating before you got engaged?
12. Your first chat was in 2019, correct?
13. Was she born in Cameroon?
14. Since No, how do you handle your cultural differences?
15. She's is a nurse. Correct?
16. How much time has she spent here?
17. When was the last time she visited? ( This sounded like a plus to me cos my fiancé is in Cameroon as we speak). The C.O found this romantic as she expressed with a smile.
18. Did you do a traditional marriage?
19. Any plans for your wedding?
20. Where and how would it look like?
21. Why did you choose to marry your fiancé in the United States?

After all the questions she spent several seconds typing on the computer before she announced that his visa was approved and that they would use the email that they have been corresponding with to tell him to come pick up his passport within 1-2 weeks. We are hopeful it will be within the next 5days because many Cameroonian timelines reflected a wait if only 5days. But I will continue to update my timeline.

Congratulations! Did you expedite?

It was a long wait we did not expedite our case or request it. After the first stage when it arrived at NVC it all moved very quickly as my timeline reflects.
Zohfonyi on 2022-10-06 said:
Hey Nicky, Did you contact NVC after your case was approve? Reason why i asked is because NVC received your case 2 weeks after it was approve so I was wondering how was yours that quick.
Franknessa on 2022-10-06 said:
I was wondering the same. When was yours approved and are you still waiting for an interview?
Edisonzohfonyi on 2022-10-07 said:
My case was approved on September 27.

The group I’m in the leader posted a guide that recommended using the NVC public inquiry form to “update your emails” so they will have your information. So immediately after approval I did that and 3weeks later they confirmed they updated me and my fiancé emails. We looked at average timeframes for NVC and saw that they recommend to only contact them after 30days and they sent out cases around 30-45days on average. So 31 days after approval my fiancé sent a request to NVC about our case using their public inquiry form and 15 more long days I sent a request to them and 3 hours after I requested information they sent both of us an email and we got our NVC # and the email said they would be sending our files to his consulate and the consulate would contact him when they are ready to process his file. On the CEAC website it said our case was in transit and that the interview date has been provided by the NVC. But they didn’t so I assumed the embassy would contact us or when it says ready he would be able to set the interview date and the medical appointment. The guide explained how we could calculate when the NVC received our case (known as the Julian date) as they only contact you after they have sent your case to your embassy not when they receive it. I looked at timelines for each stage for Cameroonian applicants and it showed most applicants it took a week to reach the embassy and from the time it hits the embassy it’s an a average of 3months until approval. The embassy contacted him by email advised him of his fees we paid immediately the next day and they then allowed him to choose an interview date and they don’t do appointments for medical appointments in Cameroon. The average timeframe for interviews for Cameroonian applicants was about two months and when he went to set the date the only availability was a month and a half out so we chose that date. We are still scheduled for the interview 10/19/22

Thank you. This was helpful
Zohfonyi on 2022-10-11 said:
Hey Nicky, you fiancé did his medical in Douala or Yaoundé and how did he schedule his medical exam?
blank avatar Emerick on 2022-10-13 said:
He had his medical exam in Douala, he contacted them to get information about all the documents they needed and best time to come. Cameroon has no scheduling system for the medical but they only see patients for the medical at certain times 😂 so when he called he was told what to bring and when to come

Thank you

Hey Nicky, goodluck on you guys interview tomorrow. I hope the interview goes well for you guys. Please let me know how the interview went and what questions they ask your fiancé. Also let me know the type of prove the embassy wants. Thank you.

Congratulation on your visa approval. May I know what type of question they asked your fiancé. Thank you.

Wao, that is a lot of question. I beginning to get nervous. What type of evidence did you provide? congratulation again
blank avatar Emerick on 2022-10-19 said:
Thank you so much ☺️ it’s so funny 😂😂 they asked for NOTHING that we prepared 😂 I told my fiancé that all the evidence we brought they will barely look at it (cause he’s a perfectionist so we brought A LOT) and he said no babe we must have a lot to prove our relationship. We brought chat records for the three year relationship (so two screen shots from each month over the 3yrs), Two pamphlet like booklets of pictures from each of my visits (except this one which he was worried about not having), 3yrs of my tax transcripts and 3months of paystubs from 2019, 2020 and 2021, all the payment receipts, I-797 and copy, confirmation of interview email and we brought the medical report(some people had issues with the clinic sending the medical to the embassy so I don’t recommend doing that option). So we had all that and she asked for none of it, just his civic documents as I wrote above. She asked for nothing else 😂😂 and she already had the previous stuff I sent from my I-129f package.

Thank you. I'm so nervous about the questions, especially questions 20 of yours. Can I have your whatsapp number so I can text you when ever I have questions? We are still waiting for out NVC case number but I already sent and inquiry to nvc

Congratulation for your Visa! I have a question, since my fiancée is going to be interviewed in Yaoundé; after paying the visa fees today, we checked to see when would the earliest interview appointment and it was showing, in the third week of January 2023, I was wondering if there would earlier dates once the Packet 4 goes through?
blank avatar Emerick on 2022-11-06 said:
Well the average is two months out so January sounds correct but new dates could possibly become available

thank the information on how the embassy contact you is great but what was need to get information at the CEAC website. Is the case number alone good enough to look at the information they have. I just received the case number Monday 28 November 2022 via inquiry email. This is nerve racking not knowing what is going on. Per&Del

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
