Consulate Review: Montreal, Canada
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : November 9, 2023
Embassy Review : I had a wonderful experience at my K1 visa interview on Nov 3, 2023. It was shockingly fast, easy and friendly. I was approved.

I brought SO much paperwork and all they needed from me was:
Petitioners address and phone number
My address and phone number
My passport and copy
Confirmation of interview showing case number and that I had paid
My birth certificate and copy
2 photos
Police certificate
I134 and supporting documents (I gave tax transcript, tax return, employment verification letter and 2 recent pay stubs)
He asked if I wanted to provide anything else to support my case. This surprised me because I brought SO much more but I didn’t want to provide it unnecessarily. I said no as long as there was nothing else he needed from me.

At the interview I was asked:
To see my ring (I think this was just conversational and friendly)
My fiancés name
Where I will be moving to
How we met
When we first met (online and in person)
What my fiancé does for work
What I do for work
If my fiancé has ever filed as a petitioner before
If either of us have been married previously
Where will we get married
How often we visit each other
Where else other than the US have I traveled in the last 5 years
If I have ever been denied entry into the US
How did he propose
If I had read the rights pamphlet

And that was (I think) it! I was expecting it to be long and scary, I was only at the embassy for maximum an hour and the man who interviewed me was exceptionally kind and friendly.

My Visa arrived the day after it was shipped, very fast! My interview was Friday the 3rd, the visa was shipped Tuesday the 7 and it arrived Wednesday the 8th.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
