Event Description
Review Date : August 24, 2022
Embassy Review : Interview was pretty straightforward. Interviewer was polite and cordial.

Asked how we met, fiance's job, beneficiary's job, if married before, and how come fiance didn't visit these last few years. Also asked to see our photos together and social media conversations.
Rating : Very Good

Greetings. Congrats on the approval? Do you mind me asking why your case took over 400 days to be approved? Did you have to refile or something like that? Thanks and God bless!
blank avatar Xiaova on 2022-06-04 said:
Thanks. No refiling or RFE... Just bad luck and USCIS being inefficient along side with a huge backlog. 400 days + will be the norm sadly if USCIS doesn't increase their efficiency. They just started processing May group this week and April is only about 70% done.

Yes they are all over the place. They just approved one in late June, and some months ago they approved one file in September 2021. Go figure! I hope it works out for you.

Greetings, would you mind sharing how did you find out your nvc case number and when the case is in transit to the designated embassy? Since nvc hotline is closed and it seems no other ways but waiting for email notifications from NVC when case is in transit. Thanks and have a great weekend

Hello. Did you receive the notification by mail of the approval? There is no other number but the original case number. I don’t believe there is a way to check the status once it’s approved. You just have to wait to receive an email for the interview. Do you have a lawyer?

I actually didn't find out my nvc case number until after it was shipped to consulate. I followed this process to determine the NVC receive number based on the Julian date: https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/785026-june-2022-k1-noa2-to-nvc-to-embassy/?do=findComment&comment=10707474 I also sent inquiry after 30 days but did not receive any responses from NVC. I got an email with case number after it finished NVC process. I took a little over 40 days.

Thank you so much for your reply!

You should have received a case number from the California service center, not from NVC. This number is the same throughout the process...

Raf And Gab, I'm not sure what you are talking. I was responding to Wenweichang. For NOA1 / NOA2 just check USCIS's status page. They also send you a letter too. No email for NOA2 approvals.

Hello. My wife is also from China. Our interview is likely still 6 months away. How long after the NVC finished processing did they schedule your interview at Guangzhou? Also, please let me know when she leaves how it is and from what airport. I’ve heard Chinese authorities are getting increasingly strict on letting citizens leave. Thanks

@Kyl123 It took about 1 month after NVC sent off our case to the embassy before we were able to schedule our interview. For the most part, It was pretty easy to find open slots for the interviews. I'll let you know how the exit goes as I don't know right now. Please DM me.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
