Embassy Review : VISA TYPE IR-5
My parents appointment took place on May 6th, 2008 at 7:15am. They arrived 30 to 45 minute before their scheduled time. Around 7:00am, they let them get inside the consulate and around 7:20am they got called to a window, where some documentation was reviewed and they asked to signed the 230 form. Half hour later, they were called to get fingerprinted; another half hour later they were called to have an interview with the a US Consul He asked them few questions about how long I (petitioner) live in the US; how many time they have come to visit and if they have stayed more than 6 months. Few minutes later, he told them that their Visa is approved and they needed to go a DHL office to have their passports delivered home. My parents needed the passports sooner that the 10 days that it was going to take to have them delivered; therefore they went back to the US consulate and they were told to come back around 3:30pm to pick them up. They came back at 3:30pm and their passports were ready with all their documentation.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
