Comments : There was a hold-up at the NVC (they returned the petition to USCIS) for a while. I contacted the offices of my state's senators and the House of Rep member. I sent out my packets for help with a federal agency request to all of them at once. Within a week, my case was returned to the NVC and promptly to the US Consulate in Nigeria. Do this immediately with any hold-ups!

Event Description

Embassy Review : The interactions and service were fair.
The waiting time is what subtracted 2 stars. My interview was at 6:30 a.m. I left the hotel at 5:30 a.m. I waited for my interview until around 12 p.m.!! My fiancée was so worried after waiting that long, she took a cab with our 1-year-old son to the consulate to make sure I was still alive. =D
Phones aren't allowed inside, so she couldn't get ahold of me.
Luckily I had just gotten out of there right before she arrived.
This isn't the consulate's fault, but watch out for the guys down the road who offer to hold your phone and anything else you can't or don't want to bring inside. They'll charge crazy high fees to collect your things from them.

Hi. Did you get to nvc yet?

I did april 7th, but april 18th the nvc returned the petition to USCIS. I don’t know why and am trying to figure it out. What’s your situation?

Omg. I'm so sorry. I'm waiting to hear from NVC. Got NOA2 March 29 and still waiting to here that they got it.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
