Comments : After submitting the app. they requested proof od our marriage - even though we had submitted it with the app. We re-sent what we had and updated some of the forms (bank statements, tax returns). We received the green card right away. A quick inquiry revealed that they had probably lost all of our proof. Good thing we kept a copy of everything we had submitted and were ready to send it quickly.

Embassy Review : Basically we were over prepared. That is a good thing. The forms the embassy sent looked pretty old. We brought translations of documents that were in Spanish. Their documentation told us to. When we presented them they said "Oh, our forms are very old." They also forgot to send or ask for for DS230 - pt2. The interview was short - kind of. After it was over my fiance left and was at the train station when she got a phone call from the embassy. They had forgotten to have her sign a doc and she had to return. She went back but they would not let her bring in her computer - security reasons. She ended up walking down the street and finding a library that would hold it for her. The end result was great but the process seemed a bit loose.
Rating : Moderate

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
