Do you have a case number from NVC yet?
Jiyaa on 2022-12-01 said:
No yet. Its been 73 days now.
Mehak Asif on 2022-12-01 said:
:( Did you get an email from NVC saying that they had your file?
Jiyaa on 2022-12-01 said:
I sent an inquiry after 30 days of approval (NOA2) and they replied on 21st Oct "recently recieved your petition and as soon as case is in our system will send a welcome letter "
Mehak Asif on 2022-12-01 said:
Ok, thank you. That is exactly where we are at right now but I just received my response back two days ago. Still waiting on case number. I am trying to get a feel for how long the wait is between NVC receiving our case and giving a case number.
Jiyaa on 2022-12-01 said:
Average 60 to 90 days depends on embassy backlog.
Mehak Asif on 2022-12-01 said:
Do you know if Islamabad has a backlog?
Jiyaa on 2022-12-03 said:
No idea.

I don’t know if you know this, but you don’t need a packet 3. If you have your case number, you can schedule your interview.

Thanks. Yes, I have scheduled my interview.

thankyou for replying. we received our NOA2 a few days back and waiting on NVC case number. Embassy would be Islamabad. if you can answer my question that would be so helpful.
1) NVC case number is what we used to schedule or do we get a new number for interview scheduling once the case reaches embassy ?
2) For the tax returns, how many years of tax returns did you take with you ? also do they require original tax documents ?
3) As per my knowledge NVC welcome letter is received by petitionary, did you scan and print NOA2 and NVC letter or you took the original ones with you ?
4) Did Islamabad embassy have any sort of communication (text/ call/ e-mail/ mailbox) with you regarding interview process or you just went ahead and scheduled the medial and interview appointments once you had the 'case ready' status ? How often did you check to get a slot for interview date ?
I know this is a lot of questions, but the process is so demanding and mentally taxing, for someone who's been through the process can be of great help to others and good karma will surely get back to you for helping. Really looking forward to your answers, thankyou.

1. NVC case number is to track case status from NVC to ISL Embassy till visa approval. No new number will be issued.
2. 3 years of return (if required by the Officer) otherwise they only asked for Affidavit of support.
3. Only scanned copies no original NVC letter or NOA2. they usually email you the letter so take print out of it.
4. Once you received NVC welcome letter with case number log in to https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx and track your case. If it says case is ready, fill DS 160 form, pay the visa fee and schedule an interview appointment. make sure medical appointment should be 10 days prior to an interview date. Send an email to ISL Embassy to confirm your case is with them in hard copy or not.
Note: I have not received any letter from Embassy regarding scheduling of interview. Only received NVC letter through mail. (so dont wait for it if you get the case number through email)
ISL Embassy has no back logs so you will get the date easily.
if still there is some confusion i will help you.

Hello. Can you please tell me about ceac showing "approved" and this message:
" The consular officer has approved your application subject to final processing by the consular section that is necessary to issue your visa. When that processing is complete, the status will change to "Issued". However, a final screening step must still be completed prior to issuance that could lead a consular officer to conclude that you are not eligible for a visa. If that occurs, the consular officer will notify you that your application has been denied and your status will change to "Refused".
For more information, please visit U.S. Embassy Islamabad."
My interview was approved. Can my visa still be denied? Should I be worried about it?
Thank you.
Jiyaa on 2023-05-21 said:
have you received any white letter by officer after approval of interview or they said it verbally ???
wait for the status to change into issued. They do admistrative processing and it takes time.
sometimes refused changes into approved then issued.
Jiyaa on 2023-05-21 said:
don't worry at this stage until they notify you something. Just Pray harder.
BAQ on 2023-05-21 said:
Yes the officer gave me white letter after approval of interview and he also said verbally that congratulations your visa is approved and you will recieve your passport in 2 weeks. My 2 weeks will be completed on this tuesday, 23 May. My interview was on 9 may. Until now status at ceac shows "approved". Is there any thing to worry?
Thanks for your answer

Hello Jiyaa, I am also applying for the K-1 visa. My case status on ceac shows "Ready". Should my fiance fill out and submit the DS-160 form or should we be waiting for a packet from the Islamabad Embassy?
Jiyaa on 2023-08-10 said:
Hi, yes you can fill out Ds 160 form and pay visa fee. But, before that send an email to ISL embassy to confirm your case is with them in hard copy or not. Becoz right now one of the member is unable to schedule an interview appointment even after case is showing ready status.
ISL embassy will not send any package so don’t wait for it.

Hey thanks for the response. Do you know what e-mail address I can use? Is support@ustraveldocs.com correct?

yes it is the receipt date.

hi, when the case status show "ready" fill out DS 160 form and send an email to ISL embassy to confirm that your case file is with them or not after that pay visa fee because one of the member is unable to schedule an interview date even visa fee is paid.
* you will not receive any package from ISL embassy.
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
