Hello. I am in a similar situation to you. I expect to get my NOA2 soon (Russian fiance) and K1 processed through California service. However, as the US Embassy servicing Russians is in Warsaw Poland, and Poland is not issuing Schengen visas to Russian citizens, what is your plan to go to another embassy? Thank you.
Miller_Kay on 2022-08-09 said:
I've emailed 20+ embassies. No one has accepted to transfer cases. You must obtain a visa to another schengen zone country. Enter there, then travel to warsaw.
Italy and Greece seem to have the highest success rate to obtain schengen visas from. There are many schengen zone countries, beyond poland, that are not accepting russian applicants. Please be sure to double check and make sure they accept before apply.
There are VERY few cases where people have been accepted to other embassies. I have only seen success with people who have residency permits in other countries transfer. Otherwise you can try Israel, it's the only country I saw someone of non residency get transferred. If you speak Russian, I can direct you to a telegram channel with similar stories.

Thank you for the info. If she gets a Greek Schengen visa, for example, does that grant her ability to fly from Greece to Poland? I was under the impression that in order to enter Poland she needs a Shengen Visa issued from Poland, no? If that's the case, then we will look into trying Tu get a Greek Schengen visa. We are working with an immigration attorney. She identified Turkey, Dubai and Serbia as our three most likely candidates to switch to. Anecdotally, my fiance says she knows Russians recently who have gotten visas to enter Greece for tourism. Out of curiosity, what is your plan going forward?
Miller_Kay on 2022-08-09 said:
Yup. If she has a schengen visa for any country she can fly to poland from there. Basically once you get inside the schengen zone, you can go wherever within the schengen zone. However, I will say some countries are weird about it and have a requirement that you stay X days in greece for example if you get a greece visa. I'm not 100% sure which countries do this, but it is a thing in some. So be aware of that and do more research.
Turkey denied us. Told us that we had to be resident permit holders of turkey, or have our case be anywhere besides in warsaw already. ie case in germany, need to transfer to turkey.
Our plan is to hopefully obtain a visa from italy.
we are still waiting on nvc# to schedule an interview in poland. But we have already scheduled our medical exam for the end of september. As we expect to have *some* kind of response by then, and the MOscow medicals are filling up quickly. ie, i went yesterday to schedule a medical and the next available date was september 28th. So i recommend you to sign up for medical soon, if your timeline is similar to mine. the results are valid for 6 months, so it is better to do it when u can.

Understand and appreciate it. Did you already go ahead and apply for a Italian Schengen multi entry Visa (as long as possible)?
Miller_Kay on 2022-08-09 said:
No, we are waiting until we get notification that our case is in transit to the embassy. As italy may only grant x amount of days. It would suck to have applied for italy visa too early, just to find out it expires before the actual day we need it.

How did you get the interview appointment so soon? Our interview options were at the earliest until March since he is not a resident of Poland

Hi. It looks like you successfully got your Embassy transferred from Warsaw to Israel, correct? Do you mind sharing details on when and how you did it? I want to have a strong backup plan in case it's not possible to enter Warsaw.
Miller_Kay on 2022-10-17 said:
You just need to email the us embassy in Jerusalem and request to transfer your case. It was the least painful thing about this entire k1 visa journey. I wish you luck!
Champole on 2022-10-17 said:
Wow amazing. Happy for you. When in the process do you recommend doing that? I'm pleasantly surprised it was so easy
Miller_Kay on 2022-10-17 said:
Can't transfer embassies without an approved i-129f (NOA2) from what I understand. If you're serious about getting in and out, I recommend Israel. Warsaw k1 visa appointments are super backed up. Not sure what the future holds for that and Russians
Champole on 2022-10-17 said:
Yeah I think you're right. Your recommendation is to wait to get NOA2 (expect in March 2023 in my case), then contact US Embassy Jerusalem, correct? After contacting Jerusalem, how long did it take for them to actually accept the transfer, and then get your interview scheduled?
Miller_Kay on 2022-10-17 said:
2 days to accept, 1 month for an invitation to sign up for an interview
Champole on 2022-10-17 said:
Understand. So from NOA2 to interview date, is 5 months reasonable to expect for time frame based on your experience?
Miller_Kay on 2022-10-17 said:
That's the current timeline, yes. But come march things will probably be much different.
Champole on 2022-10-17 said:
Understand. That is extremely helpful and I really appreciate it. Given the current situation, are most efficient path would be changing to jerusalem. We will definitely reassess in March when we hopefully get our noa2 but I think Jerusalem is plan A at this point. So helpful and thank you again

Glad to help. I wish you the best of luck in this long journey!
Champole on 2022-10-18 said:
Thank you and I will definitely keep you posted as we go along

Congratulations on getting your visa. Happy for you. Normally they issue the Visa about one day after the interview but in your timeline it looks like about 2 weeks later, is that right?
Miller_Kay on 2022-12-03 said:
Thank you. You are correct. One of the flaws at US embassy in Israel is that it takes an average of 2 weeks to return the passport after the k1 interview. Some people wait longer (up to 1month in one case) . As long as you have all of your proper documents, and there are not many holidays you should expect to stay in Jerusalem 2weeks minimum. Jerusalem is very nice place though. But also quite expensive. But it was 1000%worth the wait. As getting schengen visa for Russians gets harder everyday. You do have to complete the medical in Israel though so its 2 weeks + a few days before interview for medical results. Anyway, feel free to reach out when its NOA2 time and I can help answer whatever other questions you may have. I wish you and your fiance luck.

Understand and thank you so much. That is super helpful.
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
