Comments : 2/22/22 - We have been waiting so long now that the Visa Journey system emailed us a reminder to update this timeline. Very cool.

2/23/22 My grandmother passed away waiting for us. Not sarcastic. Actually rather..sad. We’re heartbroken she can’t attend the wedding and we’re figuring out a way to memorialize her.

3/10/22 - Noa2. Feels like she had a part in it. 17 days too late to see her but…at least L and I get to be together soon!

5/16 We received 3 + 4 on the same day.

5/17 Visa accepted!…as soon as they get the results of L’s medical exam. The appointment is June 14th and we were told 30-60 days for the whole back and forth courier stuff.

6/14 Did the medical exam! Now we wait for them to send the results.

6/20 Wow, they finally got around to sending those medical results.
7/10 Still waiting. Heard through the grape vine 2/3 of the IV unit is on vacation.
7/27 VISA RECEIVED.

Embassy Review : THE INTERVIEW W/O MEDICAL RECEIVED YET
It's just one window so you get to tell your story in front of everyone else but it was extremely no pressure. The interviewer was warm and sparkly. Interested in him and me and how we met. When we last saw each other. She joked around with him. L says he went in expecting a tense hospital atmosphere but instead it felt like a normal doctor appointment waiting room. Everyone was talking about what they were there for and how it was going.

He passed...but with the condition we have to wait until the doctor exam results get to the consulate.

congrats with your case on Transit..................my case has been on READY since the 14th of April and i do not really understand the netherlands embassy mode of operations.. Do you have an idea of how it works?? especially with the Packet 3.................are they supposed to send the packet 3 by mail(post) or by e-mail
Fk254 on 2022-05-01 said:
have you gotten your police certificate???.......................If Yes , how did you go about it?
Poochy1629 on 2022-05-06 said:
Congrats ! You are so close to the interview ! Excited for you both
KingCopperbeard on 2022-05-09 said:
Thank you, Poochy! (Sorry for the delay. Forgot my password to the site and kept getting locked out.) To get the police certificate, Fk254 we went to https://justis.nl/producten/verklaring-omtrent-het-gedrag-vog/aanvragen and followed the instructions there. We are still waiting on it. As for packet 3? We were waiting on a letter and are still waiting on a letter, 2 weeks after our case status at the NVC tracker changed to “Ready!”…for interview. I confirmed with the Amsterdam consulate they have the application too but everyone said just wait for a letter/email. This is problematic because we are moving and it could be lost in the mail but still everyone said “keep waiting.” Today, finally, after L submitted the DS-160, we received TWO Emails. One confirming he submitted the DS 160 and paid the fees. One with further instructions about the courier service and scheduling an interview. We scheduled our interview but we have not received any letter or email Still about the medical appointments or police certificate. This is a little scary because it says “bring the letter you received…”. So the plan is move the interview if we still don’t have the damn thing. The NVC is not helping us because they say the application is in Amsterdam. The consulate is not helping us because they say to wait on a letter or email. We submitted the DS-160 and are getting together the docs. Will keep you posted.
KingCopperbeard on 2022-05-09 said:
They said wait for a letter OR email. I got the vibe they don’t know what they’re doing either.
Fk254 on 2022-05-09 said:
We got packet 3 on the 4th of May......It was an email sent to the petitioner... How did you get the link to pay for the visa application??
KingCopperbeard on 2022-05-09 said:
The NVC, i have learned, is just a holding place for the application until Amsterdam says they’re “Ready” to accept more cases. That’s when they send you along. I called the NVC at 603-334-0888. The Amsterdam consulate, I called during their Dutch operating hours(my 4 AM…CDT) and got no helpful information at All. I’m trying to find that number for you but it’s not coming up. They had two numbers. One for if you’re calling from within the Netherlands and one if you’re a US citizen (so as to avoid the international calling fee).
KingCopperbeard on 2022-05-09 said:
Found it. Amsterdam Consulate number (if calling from within the US) 1 (703) 543-9346 They operate 8:15 AM - 5:00 PM…Dutch Time.
KingCopperbeard on 2022-05-09 said:
Oops. Sorry. It broke my comment up into multiples. I didn’t get a link to pay for the application. After we filed the DS-160 there was no fee. Sorry for the confusion. The fee came after we confirmed the interview. €250.
Fk254 on 2022-05-09 said:
Wait for packet 3...you should get it soon...it would be sent to the petitioner's email
Fk254 on 2022-05-09 said:
Could you give me the link you used to book the appointment??
KingCopperbeard on 2022-05-09 said:

KingCopperbeard on 2022-05-16 said:
I’ve been told no, but still got through to someone using that 703 number I mentioned earlier. They’re not answering me recently, of course..we still haven’t received packet 3 and his interview is tomorrow and they won’t let him move it so we’re just going to see what happens and what they advise.
Fk254 on 2022-05-16 said:
Wow how did you guys get the visa appointment interview without the packet 3 and packet 4??.. I have been trying to reach the immigrant unit to send the packet 4 to enable us to schedule an application to apply for the visa...how did you scale through??
KingCopperbeard on 2022-05-16 said:
Strangely, we just now(2 minutes ago) got an email that I think is P3? (Either that or an appointment confirmation.) It’s asking us to register for the visa appointment which..we..somehow already did. The English is kind of hard to understand because it sounds like we only got this packet because we registered. I’ll get you the link we used. One moment.
KingCopperbeard on 2022-05-16 said:
https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-nl/iv/information/iv_services This is also the link in the email we just received.

the action required from you to take would determine if it is packet 3 or packet 4....................To update your timeline , just click on your profile and edit immigration timeline..... lastly what were you requested to do in the email sent to you
KingCopperbeard on 2022-05-16 said:
They sent us P3 just now...in response to L's query email last week about where it was. We totally got P4 first somehow. Oops. Anyway, it's all sorted out and they said its okay if the doctor appointment happens later, after interview. I would recommend inquiring or emailing them about where your P4 is. It looks like we were totally missed for our P3!
Fk254 on 2022-05-16 said:
did you choose a date yourself or the embassy chose the date for u......................congratulations , success on your interview tomorrow.... when you entered the link, did you see the date for the appointment or how did you get the date ??
KingCopperbeard on 2022-05-16 said:
Thank you for the wishes! I don’t think we will be accepted, and will end up on hold while we wait for the doctor. When L used the link, the WHOLE calendar was grayed out except for one day: May 17. No other option. We “picked” our date..but it was also the only one we could click.

Yeah. You’re welcome! It’s a pain to navigate and information is all over the place. Success with your visa. :)
Poochy1629 on 2022-05-21 said:
Speaking of information being all over the place lol. Do we need to translate documents like police certificate, birth certificate, which are all in dutch, to English for the interview ? Because on some pages it says it need to be translated and on others it says "translate all documents that are not in English or language other than the language of the country"so now i'm not sure if these documents need to be translated to English... Also, is the interview gonna be taken in Dutch ?
KingCopperbeard on 2022-05-21 said:
Interview is in Dutch, to my knowledge. All documents must be English or Dutch! Hope this helps. <3
KingCopperbeard on 2022-05-21 said:
I am also pretty sure if English is more comfy for you than Dutch, they would switch to English for you. My fiancé is literate in both and so spoke a mix even though he is Dutch, born and raised. Success, schat~!
Fk254 on 2022-05-23 said:
could you give me the contact number or email of the place for the medicals
Fk254 on 2022-05-23 said:
The location for the medical which was provided by the embassy are saying they do not offer medical appointment for k1 cases
KingCopperbeard on 2022-05-23 said:
Oh my god. Why are they so…incompetent. I’ll be happy when we all don’t have to deal with the bureaucracy anymore! There are four doctors they gave us and only ONE of them said they were the K1 doctor. It was a huge waste of time. This is the one we emailed that worked. You’re not supposed to know but w/e. Make sure the email is in ENGLISH. prevention@ezorg.nl
KingCopperbeard on 2022-05-23 said:
We sent two emails. The first was in Dutch and it got ignored. The second was in English and we got through.

Hi KingCopperbeard. I have a quick question. So, for the interview there's a checklist and i got it from the NVC in an email and one of the items on it is, the Financial support document I-134. Is it the same thing like the Affidavit of financial support that my fiance had to file with the I-129F form ? or is it something i have to fill in? because it seems like it needs my fiancé 's signature as well. I 'm bit confused. I see you already went for the interview, did you have to give them this form as well ? Please let me know when you can : ) thanks
KingCopperbeard on 2022-06-08 said:
Hello Poochy! A here, I did have to fill out that financial support document for L's interview and they were very interested in it. It's Form I-134. It's been so long since I prepared our I-129F packet I can't remember if it's the same or different. I do know they asked L specifically for the Form I-134 to make sure I could support him when he gets here. Important note: YOU DO NOT NEED YOUR FIANCE SIGNATURE UNLESS YOUR FIANCE IS SUPPORTING HIMSELF/HERSELF. This almost tripped us up. That box right before the beneficiary signature line says something like "(Only complete this section...if...Filing selection is "Myself as the beneficiary" otherwise, continue to part 5) L is not filing the form for himself. I am filing it for him. I am supporting him. His signature was not needed and we did not get into any trouble for leaving it blank. Another section to look out for, while I'm at it..is that "I INTEND/DO NOT INTEND to make specific contributions to the Beneficiary" section. Be careful. I checked the box "INTEND" and then typed "See Additional Information" and in the Additional Information wrote something like 'N/A. We're getting married. I'm providing and sharing everything with him. Money, housing, internet, food, everything.' That box is meant to make you stumble and it looks like half the people here are confused about it. We got through with what I put. It reads to me like a trap because it's asking if you only intend to make SPECIFIC contributions once or twice to your fiance and then..well..leave them on their own otherwise. So I put "Intend" and then qualified in the additional information what I meant...because checking "DO NOT INTEND" felt like I was just gonna leave L to die in the cold when he gets here. x.x Also, be careful about the
KingCopperbeard on 2022-06-08 said:
Oops, nothing else to be careful about. I guess in my zeal to make sure you didn't get trapped I copied that phrase again.
KingCopperbeard on 2022-06-08 said:
Hey again, Franklin! Sorry about the delay. I didn't get a notice you commented. The X-ray is at a separate clinic. L got an email from the doctor about where it is and how to schedule it. The x-ray image place they are sending him to is only a block away from the clinic.
KingCopperbeard on 2022-06-08 said:

KingCopperbeard on 2022-06-08 said:
Of course! This process is a pain in the butt. Congratulations on the appointment date and good luck in the interview <3
Poochy1629 on 2022-06-14 said:
Thank you so somuch for the thorough explanation. It's somuch more clearer to me now ! Also, is it okay if my Fiance (the petitioner) signs the declaration electronically or does it have to be a handwritten signature ? And are they gonna ask for a statement of his tax returns at the interview ?
KingCopperbeard on 2022-06-14 said:
You're welcome! I, the U.S. Petitioner, signed my financial support form electronically and L printed it out and took it with him to the interview. No problem. He said they were the most interested in that form and looking at MY Tax Returns. It was the big thing they wanted to see, to make sure I could look after him when he gets here. I also gave him a copy of my most recent paystub and bank account statement so they could see I *am* making money...but ultimately all they asked for and even looked at was that form and the tax return. It is important to note that I'm single, never married, and work full time and as a freelancer, so maybe that's why. Every situation is different but I think as long as you can prove you are above the poverty line, you'll be okay :)
Fk254 on 2022-06-22 said:
Has the medical facility sent your medical report to the embassy??? how fast are they in sending the result....I had my interview yesterday and it went well...they just said they are waiting for the results of my medical
KingCopperbeard on 2022-06-22 said:
We are still waiting. Congrats on the interview though! We called the clinic on Monday and asked them. They said they sent it that day even though his appointment was the week before! We are hopeful it’s arrived at the embassy by now and that they’re processing it. Apparently once we get to the mikkropakket phase or whatever it’s called, we get a tracking number.
Fk254 on 2022-06-22 said:
Has the embassy asked for your passport? Can I know how much was spent in total for the medical??
Fk254 on 2022-06-24 said:
hello any news on the embassy receiving the medical and the visa issuance...i wanna use your timeframe to estimate mine....has the embassy asked for your fiance passport?? because i was told that i will need my passport for the medical examination so they could not keep my passport.
KingCopperbeard on 2022-06-28 said:
Hey Franklin! No news yet. Medical was done on 6/14. The clinic sent the results 6/20. We still haven't heard anything from the embassy about if they've received it or steps for Mikropakket. Our understanding is that they're purposefully using the whole Mikropakket step to bleed out the time so they can process the backlog. L was told he can't just drive to the embassy and drop off his passport himself. He has to wait for them to send him instructions on how to send in the passport. Then wait for them to give him the prepaid package to put the passport in. Then wait for them to process it. No update yet :(

Hey A.....I saw an information on Facebook visa journey that we are expected to have our own copy of the medical result(Ds-3025) . We will need it for Adjustment of Status else we risk spending another hundred of dollars in the US to get another.. Now I called IHCH to ask of they do give out the Ds-3025 but they are saying No that everything goes to US consulate... Do u have an idea?
blank avatar Brii on 2022-07-03 said:
Hey everyone, and congrats L & A on everything! I really hope you guys get through this. I am commenting to stay up to date since we're still waiting for our NVC case number and P3/P4. Does anyone mind if I ask questions when my time comes? Let me know how I can give back in any way or form as well.
Poochy1629 on 2022-07-04 said:
Guys, On the website of travel.state.gov under US Consulate General Amsterdam the part where it says "What happens after visa approval" it says that they will give us our passport and a "sealed envelope" which we can't open. Only the U.S immigration athorities can so i think that must be our medical records. It is kind of strange that we can't get a copy of it though. You should be able to see the results of the medical screening. Pretty weird.
KingCopperbeard on 2022-07-04 said:
I think Poochy is right. Sorry, Franklin. Couldn’t find anything about the form or the contents of the sealed envelope. It’s really weird how secretive they are.
Fk254 on 2022-07-05 said:
Anyway I got an email from IHCH that I would be sent my copy of the Ds 3025 once the doctor is through with the examination. The reason I'm this serious is from.the Facebook k1 visa journey group, I noticed the results is very importance for AOS else I would have to pay over $600 or so to i-693 from a civil surgeon(local physician in the US)
Poochy1629 on 2022-07-05 said:
I was already thinking this doesn't makes sense. How can they not give you a copy of the medical records pfft

Hi A, So.. I think i did the same thing you did with the interview scheduling thing. So we scheduled a date online on the 8th of July but we didn't receive P4 and still haven't since.. Are they gonna ask for proof of the P4 at the interview ? Im really worried...
KingCopperbeard on 2022-07-18 said:
Let me ask L and I’ll get back to you about it. I have a family emergency this morning with my Dad. I do have good news about our visa too but..first things first. I do know that the day before our interview the consulate emailed us P4 and then P3 and said they’ll just get the medical results after the fact. L asked around and it seems that this is Amsterdam’s way of bleeding out the time so they can process visas without giving out the dreaded form 221g. Because 221g can cause issues with immigration and flying for the rest of the fiancé’s life since it registers as being DENIED for a visa and that raises eyebrows at customs.
KingCopperbeard on 2022-07-18 said:
They didn’t ask for any verification. 💫
Poochy1629 on 2022-07-18 said:
Ooh noo i'm so sorry to hear that. Take care of your dad i hope he is going to be ok 🙏 Sending prayers to your family. No pressure to respond quick but thank you for easing my worries. Hmm good to know... i think we'd all rather wait than to get that 221g 😳

Man, I’m sorry, that sucks so much! I would correct it, this can bring up concerns during Aos, port of entry and more.. so have it fixed; i know its a stupid mistake and its going to make u wait more but it’s better to fix it now than messing up during all the other processes
KingCopperbeard on 2022-07-28 said:
Oh my god. How inept can they be! Unfortunately, I think it's better to get it changed/corrected now because they *can* turn you away if there's any mismatch because it looks like fraud. That could follow you.

@Mmschwa, my appointment is on August 30th for my medical and i agreet hat they are extremely terrible at communicating. IHCH let me know that theyll send me another email a week befor emy appt with more instructions. I called them 5/10 times to ask for more clarification sincemy experience seems so different than others, but nothing helps.. Hi L & A, I hope your are both doing well. I have a question about sending in the documents to Mikropakket. I sent my passport and some other documents through PostNL to Mikropakket. Via the track and trace of Postnl someone received it at Mikropakket but now i don't know how they will send it to the embassy because i have no track and trace or got no email from them that they will send it. I called them but they are only telling me that i should contact the Consulate and the consulate doesn't respond to my emails at all. I am worried because Mikropakket has a lot of bad reviews. How did you send in your passport ?
Fk254 on 2022-09-26 said:
Just follow the instructions as it says on that instruction letter...It will surely get to the Embassy....Don't be skeptical or scared because it cannot be tracked , just trust the procedure and hand your passport over to Mikropakket
