Consulate Review: Belgrade, Yugoslavia
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : April 3, 2023
Embassy Review : Our appointment was at 10h, but we arrived around 9:30 and they let us in.

Everyone at the embassy was very kind, although I feel like they were extra nice to us because they knew I was an American. We were at the embassy for about an hour and a half, and 90% of that time we were just sitting and waiting for our number to be called.

The actual interview lasted about 5 minutes. Only the beneficiary was allowed to be at the window, so I sat in the waiting area while she was answering the questions. He asked her what my name is, how did we meet, and if either of us have jobs/what are our professions. So only three questions really! After that, he approved her!

That was about it! Everyone we talked to was very friendly and the whole experience was really easy. We were actually very nervous (mostly because we are a same-sex couple) but everything went fine.
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
