Comments : >>NVC inquires should be by on-line form, I got no response from emailing NVC. On-line form took about 3 days for answer.
>>Consulate interview in Rio de Janeiro, we arrived 1/2 early and immediate bypassed 2 long lines of 100 or so people, we asked doorman if US fiance could enter and they said it usually not done but they checked by radio and let US fiance inside. We gave cell phone to person in vest for storage that we later retrieved at place a block away ($R10). We went to room with about 20 other people, arranged our documents according to sheet and had convince person that we need certain documents, and others we not needed (relationship photos and Financial support documents, it seems they only interested in Tax return). We waited 1/2 hour to be called for interview. Interview takes place at glass window while standing, lasted 3 minutes. Questions they asked:
>>How we've known each other, ask to confirm when I proposed marriage
>>Do we have date for wedding
>>When was last time saw fiance (me)
>>Question asking to confirm that we had previous marriages

Embassy Review : Consulate interview in Rio de Janeiro for K-1 Visa on June 6, 2023.

We arrived 1/2 early for 8am interview and k-1 visa interviewers we immediate called to bypass 2 long lines of 100 or so people. We asked doorman if US fiance could enter and they said it usually not done but they checked by radio and let US fiance inside. We gave cell phone to person in vest for storage that we later retrieved at place a block away ($R10). We went to room with about 20 other people (family visas), arranged our documents according to sheet and had convince person that we need certain documents, and others we not needed (relationship photos and Financial support documents, it seems they only interested in Tax return).

We were told we were approved.

We tried clarify express service, whether to use delivery to US office in Sao Paulo (no fee) or our Sao Paulo home (addl fee). It seems same delivery service is used for either option, so one option is not faster than the other.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
