Embassy Review : |
Arrived about 45 minutes early and there was a significant queue. I didn't need to drop anything off at the coffee shop to be stored, but others said it was £10, and you got a free coffee after collection.
I joined the queue 30 minutes before my interview. I provided my DS260 confirmation document and passport and got directed through the security checkpoint. I was asked to turn on my phone and open any app but the guard at the door. After going through the normal airport style security check I opened the worlds heaviest door to the courtyard (if you struggle to open it, ask for help it's really heavy).
Going into the building I joined another short queue and was asked a few questions about my visa type and had some stickers applied to my ds260 confirmation and was sent upstairs one floor to the 1st floor.
I was sent to 19-25, which is a left and all the way round the side of the embassy. I was called up to the booth within a minute or so and asked for Name, DOB and three document (Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate and ACRO Police certificate) and also provided my finger prints I was handed a document about rights in the US and asked to sit down.
About 5 minutes later I was called up to another booth. I was asked my name, DOB and was asked to swear and oath that I will provide truthful information. I provided my finger prints again and was asked a few questions regarding my marriage (Where did we meet, what was my spouse doing in the UK when we met, where did we get married) and after some typing I was informed that my application had been approved and to wait 3-10 business days for my visa.
I was then informed to go down the elevators and exit the way I entered. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
