How did you find out NVC received your petition, did you ask NVCResearch, or USCIS, or email notification? Congrats!

Hey there Peter! So I actually sent an email inquiry to them over a month ago with updated information about me and my fiancee (emails, etc). They replied a week ago saying that they couldn't update our information because they hadn't received our case, but in the same email they said if the NVC timeline says they are working on cases AFTER your approval date (NOA2), then send them an email with the case number and a picture of your NOA2. I did this and they responded a couple days later saying they received our case!

Gotcha, thank you for sharing!

Similar question :) How did you find out about your Visa Number ..did you make inquiry to NVC, or they send you notification through email without you having to ask them? Nice update! :)

Hey! Thank you! Very excited, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Basically they replied to my email that was in reply to their first one stating they received our case. I directly replied to that email asking for a status update because it had been almost a month since they received our case, and they replied a few days later stating a case number. Hope this helps!

Noted! Thanks for the information. Congrats!!

Did you ever get Packet 3 or Packet 4? NVC just sent my petition to Jakarta embassy today and I'm wondering whether or not I should advise my beneficiary to schedule the interview now. Great Awesome update btw! :)
blank avatar Momboman177 on 2022-12-20 said:
Hey! So we got an email from the embassy essentially with all links we need to use for scheduling, paying etc. It also had a master list of everything we need to bring to the interview. No packets, just that email. My fiancée already had her medical check, paid the fee and was able to schedule her interview because of that! So expect something similar! Medical check and visa fee were easy, you have to wait a full business day after paying before you can use the receipt number from the bank to schedule the interview. Was overall super easy! And thank you, hoping you get to schedule yours soon too!!

Thanks! Did your fiancee have the medical exam *before* getting the email? Also, was the email coming from the local embassy or NVC?
blank avatar Momboman177 on 2022-12-20 said:
Everything was after the email. Came straight from the Jakarta embassy email!

Got it! Thank you very much for sharing! Congratulations!!

Thank you so much!! Any timeline for your interview yet?
blank avatar PeterCrist on 2023-01-11 said:
Our interview is scheduled this 26th. Thank you for sharing about the absence of packet 3 & 4 and that was only instructions in email. We already had JAK case number rtf/doc from NVC and we also had confirmed the DHL delivery status. So your information was so helpful for us that we decided to go ahead with scheduling the medical exam and interview while waiting for the email from Jakarta Embassy. We did get the email from embassy 3 days after we scheduled medical and interview. That saved us several days! Thanks again and best of luck on your journeys ahead!

That's awesome to hear, so glad I was able to help in anyway! Best of luck with the interview!! And thank you again!

I see that you've arrived in US, congrats!! :) Do you mind if I ask how long till you received back your passport with visa after interview? Any particular watch-outs or suggestions coming in from Boston Logan?
blank avatar Momboman177 on 2023-01-26 said:
Hey! Yes she is finally here :) took her about 2 days to get her visa, she had it delivered to her apartment. Only thing I would suggest when getting your ticket is to leave enough time when arriving in America for customs if you are doing a connecting flight from somewhere in the US to Logan. My fiance first stopped in DC, but didn't have enough time to get to her flight to Logan and was stuck there for 4 hours. So definitely leave atleast 3 hours I'd say if you go that route. Other than that should be smooth sailing. Good luck to you guys!!

So your fiancee's immigration custom and border point was at Washington DC. Gotcha! Mine had her interview last night (this morning, Jakarta time) and she's approved. She plans on going from CGK Jakarta to BOS with transit in Doha Dubai. Thanks so much as always and best of luck to you as well!!

Hi there! I am not sure how we got it this fast to be honest with you. I think we're just lucky. There was no interview for us although I can confirm that some do go through interview process. But I believe getting approved without interview seems to be uncommon these days. Probably it's one of the initiatives to reduce backlog. I don't think we did anything special and everything is basically by the book and do just like the instructions tell us to do. We kind of a bit of a rush in terms of immigration stuff though. Like scheduling medical before getting email from local embassy (learning from you which we THANK YOU so much), getting marriage license next day right after she landed and to be married days later, sent AOS application right after our marriage ceremony on that same day too. We tried to do things as soon as possible. I prepared and sent AOS, EAD and AP applications together, all in one packet, sent it to the AOS filing address. You're right, we did not do additional medical check-up either upon filing. USCIS sent us invitation to create USCIS account online and that helps with tracking application status and getting the (pdf) receipts electronically faster in addition to the physical letters in the mail. Thank you for the well wishes and congrats to you both as well and hope it won't be long now for approval and the card to arrive for your case!

Hi there, For your AOS package did you submit old medical or had to obtained new signed form from local civil surgeon ? Apparently a lot of people are getting RFE for using medical form from k1 visa. You've Boston field office as mine so just wanted to figure that out before I send my petition.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
