Did you guys have an interview date yet?
J And E Visa on 2023-03-20 said:
Not yet! Based on others I think it will be at least a month or two before we get that information but we are hoping it doesn’t take long.

I'm the beneficiary and I'm also from Mexico, I'm following your timeline as a reference, please keep your timeline updated, your information is very helpful to me 🙂

Will do, Arturo! Unfortunately, no updates yet. We are still waiting for the embassy to tell us our interview date, but I am really hoping we will get it within the next month.

Same here looking for your timeline as we are Mexico too!! Is your interview for Juarez or CDMX?

Hi! We got our interview date—July 31, 2023 at CDJ. They mailed a physical letter to me, the petitioner. The letter was dated May 25 but I wasn’t checking my mailbox and didn’t see it until around May 30 because we expected them to contact my fiancé, not me. My fiancé is the beneficiary and they never called, emailed, or mailed him anything. Our document check is therefore on July 31 and the actual interview will be August 1 since they do those separately at CDJ. We scheduled medical and the CAS for before the interview. Hope this helps!

Wow! Your interview is in 9 days!!! Congratulations!! We've received an email with our case number from NVC and our case has been ready for a couple days, I'm a bit confused at this point I don't know what to do, we don't have the invoice ID number. I don't know if we should wait for a letter from the embassy or keep inquiring for the invoice ID number.

Arturo, congrats on getting to ready! Sorry my response is late. If I understood you correctly, you have already passed NVC stage and you don’t need an invoice ID number. That is for other types of visas, not K1. We also had that confusion but it turns out the invoice ID is irrelevant for K1. You are now waiting for your letter from the embassy which will tell you your interview date. For us, it was about two and a half months after “ready” that we received the embassy letter. We thought it would arrive at my fiancé’s home (in Mexico) so I was not checking mail regularly. I received the embassy letter first in the US at the end of May; he received a copy a few days ago (insane!) at his Mexico home address. They were sent at the same time.
While you are waiting for your embassy letter, you can start to gather some materials. You will need things like Ds-160 and Form I-134 for financial support. Also, most documents have to be dated within 30 days of the appointment, so there is no point in paying for them yet (like la carta de no antecedentes / criminal record) but you can find out how to get it and make a plan. Feel free to send me a message if you have more questions! Buena suerte~
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
