Embassy Review : |
It was on april 17th 2008, There were protests around Tegucigalpa. I was worry maybe it will be hard for me to reach to embassy on time. Thank God i arrived 1/2 hour before The guards at the embassy let me in. There were around 20 people for inmigrant visa. The guard checked my name on the list. Then we were checked and my belongings through x-ray machine. My Fiance couldnt come with me, so i was more nervous. I arrived to the visa inmigrant section and we sit and wait until the precheck windows will call us.I was the third one they called, the lady asked me for all the documents i had (forms, proof of relationship, financial support). I gave her everything I had. Then she pre-interviewed me and wrote down all my answers on a paper. Questions like: how we met? how many times my fiance visited me? If i went to visit him? also about my previous J-1 visa? If i had problems with the police in my staying in US? because i studied in Mexico, she asked me also, What I studied there?, What kind the work i was doing in my country?. Then she told me to go to pay US$131 when i come back she told me to wait until the consul call me. Every interview was about 30 minutes, i was thinking that i will be almost the whole day at the embassy . Finally I was called, and the consul was very nice, He asked to take my fingerprints and rise my right hand to swear. He shake positively his head telling me that i brought a lot evidence. I felt confidence at the moment i didnt feel nervous and we began the conversation. He asked almost the same questions as the preinterview, he just added, where my fiance live? If i will work in US? He also refered about the pictures, he knew the place that we went with my fiance. The consul nicely told me if i could come back to the embassy in the afternoon to pick up the passport with the visa, I immediately answered him..YES They issued the visa the same day of the interview. I just can say THANK GOD, GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!!! |

Embassy Review : |
The only bad thing is the time that the immigrant officer made me wait like 50 minutes. There were more people without doing anything, I did not understand why they made me wait so much. The questions he asked me were almost the same ones than in the embassy. Only He added when we will marry and reminded me that I have 90 days to do it. The immigrant officer was very nice. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
