POE Review: Detroit
Event Description
Entry Date : 2008-07-11
Embassy Review : I got to Detroit on July 11, 2008 at 11;30am. The lady on the check out counter told me my visa is already expired (but it says on the visa that it will expire July 31 though)so she told me to wait for the immigration officer to go to immigration office. In the immigration office,I got scared after watching the Immigration Officer scolding an old Lady for not going back to the United States on time. Minutes past and my name wasn't called. I begun to worry because my next flight is 1:30pm. I was called at 12:45 or 12:50 (i'm not sure of the exact time) an immigration officer called me and interviewed me. I can say it's a relax interview. She asked me how's my trip, ask about my fiance, where did we meet, where r we going to settle....pretty easy questions. Interview was fast. Then I proceed to check in counter but unluckily it's already 1pm so they did'nt accept me and booked me on the next flight to NY. This delay made me wait to Detroit for 8 long hours. But it's worth the wait knowing I'll be seeing my fiance soon.
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
