GC approved without the interview after 6 months and few weeks. The case status online is still with the last touch on November 2008. Don't open that website too often..:-) |

Embassy Review : |
The US embassy in Kuwait does an excellent job for responding the emails from us. We did everything by ourself, got the quick response for our emails, and received the package 3 through the email with the complete links to the forms and the directions for everything. You need to know your case number before sending any emails to them. You may email them for getting the interview date soon after getting your package3. The interview will be around 10 days from the date of your requisition email. Make sure to compose the new email for the interview date, do not ask for the interview date as a reply of your package 3 email. My interview was appointed on June 5th, 2008. I went to my interview alone. The interview mostly will be appointed between 1-2 PM. Be there at least 45 minutes before your appointment time so you will be able to get the good number for security checking. You will get a visitor number and they will keep your Kuwait civil ID. There will be a waiting room, beside the security booth, a convinient one in case there is a sandstorm or summer heat outside. You will be called by number to pass through the security checking. Cellphone will not be allowed and you have to leave it in your car or at the security. There is a separated building inside for the visa appointment (you will see the direction). You will walk through another security checking again, and get another number at the machine facing the entrance door. Press number 3 for K1 visa and keep your number. Go to the door on your right and wait until your number will be written on the screen. Once your number will be appeared on the screen, go to the window number appeared next to your number (usually window1). This is the place where you will submit all the forms. Bring the copies of all your papers. The originals will be returned back to you except the affidavit of support, immigration forms, and the burgan bank receipt. I dont know the name of the staff at that window, but he accomodated me very well. After it, you have to be seated again and wait until they will call you by your name. After few minutes, they call my name to the window 7 for the interview. The interview will be conducted even though they havent received the medical report. The interviewer is a good and entertaining one, at least you will not be nervous with the pleasant welcome and smile. Well, seemed that he had a negative view on internet dating (I and Dan met online for the first time). Since more than 50% internet chatting are unrealabe, we do understand that some people may not understand the true ones. I do understand he was doing his job, wanted me to be in a good hand in US, and didnt want any US citizen to be cheated by the foreign bride who just wanna be in US. I guess by seeing our pictures together he was convienced. I showed the recent pictures of us together with the other evidences. He gave me my passport copy with a sticker on it and asked me to give it to the DHL sounter in the waiting room. After hearing 'your visa will be delivered a week via DHL after we get your medical report', I was released. The interview was about 20 minutes long and no preparation needed if you know everything about your love.:-) Though most of the security staff are less accomodating (well, I guess they have to), you will be happy with the way they treated the visitor generally. |

Embassy Review : |
Only few minutes in the first inspection, where they opened my sealed envelope from the US embassy. Getting the lugages was taking longer time (the people in the baggage claim are rude). It took only around 20 minutes for the secondary inspection. You have to turn to the right from the exit sign, you will see a sign of secondary inspection after the bagage claim. Go to the B section for K1 visa, straight to the desk 10-12 and give your passport, envelope, and the white form. There was a man with K1 visa waiting for his paper ahead of me there. He spent his waiting time with complaints and some noise. Apparently, his behavior just piss the immigration officers off and he was stucked there even after I leave. Just be patience and wait for your turn quietly. The immigration officers are nice and they do the good job to move the line faster. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
