Event Description
Review Date : March 15, 2023
Embassy Review : Interview date and time - March 13, 7:30 AM.
Location - Mumbai, India
We stayed in a hotel called La Hotel Metro (Average hotel but its just 5 mins away from consulate)

We reached at 6:45 AM. Security allowed me at 7:00 AM. Accompanied persons has to wait outside on the street. After entering there is a usual security check like at airport. They chared 50 Rs for phone locker facility. Lockers are limited so I would suggest not to take it inside the cosulate.

I was asked to take a seat in the waiting area. They asked if we need a translator. I chose to have a 'Telugu' translator. Hindi, Punjabi, Telugu, Tamil , Malayalam translators are available on the day of interview.

I took a token at the counter by showing the interview letter and waited for my number. My number was called after 15 mins.

First officer (Indian) took all the originals such as i4294,Marriage Cert, Birth cert, divorce documents, passport, pcc etc and put in a envelope. He asked below questions. They passed envelope to second window for American officer review.

Who is calling you.
Where is your husband currently located.
When will he go back to US.
Mothers maiden name.
How many times me and my husband married previously.
Asked tax transcripts to give it to american officer.
Gave brochure regarding domestic violense

Second officer (American) started the interview . Below are the questions they asked. I answered all questions in telugu and translator translated to american officer.

Who is calling you.
when did you guys first met.
Is it arranged or love marriage.
who arranged the match.
how many people attended the wedding.
Why only 50 people attended the wedding (Peak pandemic situation)
Where does your husband stay in US.
How did you husband when to US?
How did he received Green card and became citizen.
What is your highest qualification.
Do you have any children in current marriage.
Asked my childs birth certificate, CRBA doc.
Asked to show family photos.
When is your marriage date.
When did you guys first met.
What kind of work your husband do.
Reason for divorce.
As about my husband ex location and asked if she is in still touch with him?
how is my husband paying child support to my step son in US?
How often does my husband see his son in US?
Marriage and divorce dates.
How many times your husband visited after marriagie and asked to show pics for proof.
Asked recent tax transcript.

Finally he said everything looks ok and satisfied with the answers. He gave info regarding immigrant visa fees. He kept the passport and said I will receive it in 1 week.

I walked out at 9 AM.

PS. I received passport on March 15 in 2 days.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
