The doctors appointment should be pretty easy. 1) We went with Jairo Roa and they got us in quickly with no problems. Just make sure to have all the documents needed for the doctor beforey you arrive, otherwise you might do a bit of running during the day to get things copied. As you probably know, also schedule 4 business days out for them to process and get it ready for the embassy after the doctors appointment.
2) The biometric screening at the embassy was really easy, our appointment was at 9am yesterday, we got there at 8:15 and left the embassy around 8:30. We brought the passport and the I-160 and appointment confirmation sheets.

Rhess22 on 2023-06-04 said:You are correct! The only shots required before the meeting was two shots of the Covid vaccine. We also didnt have any medical records but that was ok. For the K-1/K-2 Visas we had to fill out the DS-160, not the I-160, sorry. If you dont have any particular shots needed they will give them to you at the medical exam before you fly 😊.

As of May 12 non immigrant visa applicants no longer have to have any Covid vaccines to enter the U.S. They are required for AOS like the other vaccines so Colombia should not be requiring any vaccines at all for the visa medical. I am curious why they are still telling you that you have to have those. Crazy. TIA

My Medical appointment was a week ago. As far as the covid restrictions, we asked about it as well. I am being told the K-1 in Colombia is considered a immigrant Visa for the medical appointments, and they havent dropped the Covid restrictions yet for immigrant visas. We had to rush to get the second shot for the K-2.

Hmmm it clearly states on the CDC webpage that K1 does not have to have any vaccines to enter the US including Covid, only for AOS which is acceptable to receive vaccines once in the States.

I asked them if i could get the second shot there if we didnt have it and they said no,‘Colombians must get Covid shots from the ministry of health’. Challenging them more just let to confusion. My fiance got her son the second shot from a place in Venezuela before we went to our appointment in Bogota.
Rhess22 on 2023-06-06 said:Hey Michael & Vanessa! They said the passport needs 2-4 days before we recieve an email allowing us to pick it up. Choosing expided delivery doesnt help that part. We chose the pickup location to be near the embassy in Bogota (calle 26…) since that should probably be the fastest. We have a flight scheduled on the 9th so hopefully today or tomorrow we get an email.

Rhess22 on 2023-06-11 said:Good morning! Yup we did! We got an email to schedule a pickup time (and that it was ready) four days after our interview, so she had to stay behind while I flew home. She is scheduled to fly back Wednesday. We origionally scheduled an appointment to pick it up, but then we got another email saying to pick it up at your convenience so she picked it up the next day without one.

The interview person just told us we would get an email between 2-4 business days. Ours was on Monday and we got the email Friday morning.
