Consulate Review: Montreal, Canada Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa Event Description Review Date : February 15, 2006 Embassy Review : Hi everyone, I need an insight on this, I had my IR1 interview in Jan 2006, I turned in all documents needed and paid the fees, after a while i was called for the interview. I was alone there (With out my wife), after meeting with the officer he said the following: Said that I passed the interview and that i won't need to return to montreal to get my stamp anymore (I will mail my passport once they call me). In addition, he said that there is a Check on me with the DOS that has to complete before i can get the stamp. And after asking him twice about how long that wait would be, he said around 6 months (could be more or less). Next, He asked to provide my sponsor's new income taxs since the latest one was lower than the required poverty limit (although the two years before it where higher). At the end, he handed me a statement that only containted info regarding the Tax update (not a problem), but why didn't it say anything about the check going on. Please tell me if this sounds familiar. Rating : Good
