Event Description

Embassy Review : We are another same-sex couple. My fiancée had an appointment early in the morning and was second to be interviewed. She was very nervous about the interview cause her lack in the English language. Thankfully, the interviewing officer knew Korean, put her at ease and even shared some laughs when he heard we met through a mutual friend while playing an online game hahaha. She said the interview took 10 minutes. At the end, the interviewing officer told her congrats and that she was approved!!! The whole process from when she walked in and out of the embassy was 2 hours.
Rating : Very Good

CaseTracker app and USCIS, both, said case was approved on March 28th. Received paper I-797 and found NOA2 date is actually March 25th. Have updated timeline.

We never did get the I-765 approval, filed at the same time. Got a RFE for I-485 March 2, replied April 6th and got the approval 2 days later.
blank avatar Gjd2017 on 2023-04-11 said:
Wow, congrats! I'm confused by your timeline because it says the RFE was in January of this year. How many months from Biometrics, and what was the RFE for?
blank avatar Gjd2017 on 2023-04-11 said:
Nvm, was looking at the wrong timeline! haha
Keickhoff on 2023-04-11 said:
I typed wrong date for RFE was March 21, not 2nd. They wanted proof of wedding, pictures, sworn affidavits from people attending, had to send 2nd copy of marriage certificate because they could not see raised seal in first
JoooonMoi on 2023-04-11 said:
2 day turn around and an approval, that's amazing! Congrats to you two again!!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
