Comments : Note: Never found out nvc receive date or number assigned as nvc closed phone line. Only received nvc forwarded to consulate email. We spent too much time filling out packet 3 and that was our fault, but the chinese consulate is super fast, once they get it from the NVC. When you get the appointment letter, there were no appointments available and we had to keep checking, but got one about a month out after checking several times per day for two days. Interview result: Administrative Processing 221(g) Security Advisory Opinion as expected for certain Chinese citizens. Update 8/23: CEAC Website now says approved. After interview, CEAC said refused, but yesterday (8/22), CEAC changed from Immigrant Visa to Non-immigrant visa with a new created date, and from refused to Application Ready. The old immigrant visa record was deleted, and replaced with a non-immigrant record. Then the next day, 8/23 it changed to Approved and said we should receive the visa within 10 days. No actual second interview, but approved on 8/23. Status changed to Issued 8/26. Issued 8/26. Mailed 8/28 and received EMS tracking. Received 8/31 (EMS so Slow Finally). Waiting to enter for CDC Dog Permit.

Consulate Review: Guangzhou, China
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : August 18, 2022
Embassy Review : Interview experience. Arrived at the consulate and waited in long line and submitted all the paperwork.
How we met? Met during time spent in USA
Asked reasons for travel and more specific questions about activities during previous USA trip?
Said he had been to the city she traveled to in USA and discussed the city a little bit.
Asked what she studied in school? Answer related to children
Asked if she had any children? No
Asked if she was a member of a certain Chinese political party?
Said the visa would be delayed for administrative review 221g and gave piece of paper, said the materials submitted were good, but administrative review for political reasons.
Discussed how long this admin review would take with fiancée.
End of interview.
Visa shows as refused on CEAC, but CEAC message says this is normal if you were told your visa would need admin processing and will remain as refused status if while admin processing happens.
Rating : Very Good

POE Review: San Francisco
Event Description
Entry Date : 2022-10-03
Embassy Review : K1 Visa Entry. Asked 3 questions, 1. Who are you getting married to?, 2. How long have you been dating?, 3. When will you get married?. Then stated, please be aware that you have to get married within 90 days or you have to leave the country. Very easy and smooth. No issues.
Harassment Level : Low

Hello congrats on your case being sent to the embassy! My fiancé received her N0A2 June 7th and we’re waiting for case number. How did you get your case number and how did you complete the affidavit or support/DS160 if you never received a correspondence from NVC?

So the NVC emails you a letter with your information on it when they forward it to the consulate. I'm not sure what date the NVC received or what date the consulate received. I just received an email from the NVC saying they were forwarding to the consulate, and then she received packet 3 from the consulate in the mail a little more than a week later. Pretty sure the case number is included in packet 3 as well, so you should receive it from two different sources by the time you are ready to start the DS160.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
