POE Review: Houston
Event Description
Entry Date : 2008-11-05
Embassy Review : The first immigration officer we spoke to gave us a hard time about my fiance's educational level, saying that he didn't think he could let him in because he'd not finished high school in his home country. After going around and around with him and our plans (we were very honest/up-front about our situation) and him giving us advice, he sent us to the interview room. We waited about 10-15 minutes and my fiance was called up to the desk and asked a bunch of questions. I was not allowed to provide him with any information (addresses or names of places in English - he only speaks Spanish at this point), but in the end, they stamped his passport and allowed him to enter, giving him 6 months on his B-2 visa. We were nervous through the process, but everything turned out ok in the end.
Harassment Level : Moderate

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
