Embassy Review : |
My interview was scheduled at 13:30. I arrived at the consulate just a little past 13:00 and there were some people waiting already. We were let in at around 13:15. First there was the security check and I had to hand in my cell phone. Then on to booth #5 where a friendly gentleman asked for my birthcertificate, passport size photos and postage fee. I was told to sit down in the waiting room and this could be a while as the consul was in a meeting. It took two hours . Then I heard my name being called and I had to go to booth #6. The interview itself took no more than 5 minutes. I was asked several questions like, how and when did I meet my fiance, what's his name, have I visited him in the US, has he visited me in the Netherlands, have I met his family, was either one of us previously married (when I said that my fiance was, they looked up his divorce papers), does either one of us have children (when I said that my fiance has a son, they asked for his age), what kind of work my fiance does, what kind of work I do (when I said that I am a travel agent, he made some small talk about whether I get any discounts on travel and stuff). And that was it. He told me he was going to approve the petition, congratulated me and told me that I would receive my passport with the visa and all the documents they had within 5 business days. I thanked him and left. The wait was very long, but of course the outcome was positive so it was well worth it |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
