Interview wasn't as long or hard as we expected. Our officer was really nice, casual, and even seemed a bit nervous herself.
After the swearing in, I had to answer basic questions on the I-485 form, to check if all the information was still correct and make any necessary adjustments. Our address had changed and they added my current employer to the form. We also went over all the eligibility questions again, for which she apologized a couple of times ('I'm sorry I have to ask you this, but it is just procedure - ')
Then she asked my husband a couple of basic questions such as his parents names and his current employer.
This took about 10-15 minutes.
The other half of the interview was kind of chatting about where we met, when we met, when we started dating, when we met each others parents, how often we saw each other, our proposal story and when we got married. This was just to establish a timeline, or so she said. It was actually kind of fun to go over our memories together. She also asked a couple of questions such as 'what kind of activities do you enjoy together' and 'what are your plans for the future'.
Overall, it was pretty casual and we were definitely over-prepared. The interview ended with a ''Do you have any information you want to give me that will add to your case'', and so we handed over statements of our joint bank account, our lease agreements, our AKC registration and some pictures of us together. I also handed her the envelop of the Medical Exam.
She said she needed to go over the information and put it in the system, but that she was going to approve us. Then she explained to us what the conditional green card meant and asked if we had any questions. I told her I was unsure about traveling with my Advance Parole. I will leave next week for The Netherlands because of a family emergency. It's good that I told her, because the green card approval actually makes the Employment Authorization Card, including the Advance Parole invalid. So you're in this weird limbo if you want to travel on your advance parole between the time of approval and having the green card physically in hand. She went out of her way to make sure it was going to get produced asap, and also ensured I got the I-551 Stamp in my passport that serves as a temporary green card.
I really appreciated the efforts and am looking back at this interview in a positive way!
