No problems entering the United States. Maybe it's because my flight to D.C. was delayed and when I finally got there I was so tired (and probably looked like it!) nobody asked me anything. Very pleasant experience for me:)) |

The interview started 30 minutes late but once we were in it only took 10 minutes. He was very nice to us, asked the required questions while going through our huge file and asked to see what documents we brought and he checked if he already had and looked at proof of living together like bank statements, lease agreement and an offer to buy a house. He glanced over our pictures and asked how we met and that was it. Green card will be sent in 4-6 weeks. Awesome!!!

I am new to the visa process so there were some problems at first. First of all the consular wasn't sure of the right answer of how to start the visa process so I was given a number to call at the embassy. I called and asked if I could start the process there as I heard it was faster but was told that they don't do that anymore (wrong answer, it was July and the memo to start accepting again was in March). Also, the I-130 that was given to me was 2 years old but at the time I didn't know to check for current fees so I sent in the form and was (will be) sent back (within 90 days). I attribute my delays to not researching enough on my own but the embassy should know what they are doing and having more American employees might make a difference as well, the only American I talked with was the Consular. I am now a month and a half behind and go home in a month and a half. Remember to research before trusting people who you think would know. If the process was initiated at the embassy they incorect fee thing would have been caught, luckily I had copies of the documents but the fees doubled in the mean time. |
