Embassy Review : I am completing this feedback on behalf of my wife who has attended her immigrant visa interview at the US Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia recently. She said both the officer and the translator have been very nice and made her feel very comfortable during the interview. She was nervous in the beginning but once the officer began the interview questions she felt comfortable and finished her interview successfully. She said all the questions asked were very basic such as: how we met and knew each other, where our wedding took place, if I have visited her since we got married, what I do for living in the state and etc. She advises everyone who's waiting for an interview, go prepared to it. The process will be easy for you and help the officers process more cases in the long run.
Good luck every one in your journey!

Hello Wubalrm, Have you heard from the US embassy in Ethiopia yet? Did they schedule you for interview? I know the waiting time is killing us and I am now under depression for my case! Good luck to all of us!!

Hi Tadu, I have not heard a word from the embassy yet. They did not scheduled me for the interview. Yes, the waiting is killing us. It’s hurting us in so many ways. Hopefully, it will be history some time soon God willing! Keep the hope up; we are in the same boat!

Thank you Wube. Yes, the waiting has also paused our life here in the US. You plan something but can’t do it because you’re waiting for your spouse or other family members who is part of your plan’s decisions. I am too emotional right now! May God the Almighty help us all!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
