Expedite requested on Feb 17th, which was accepted on Feb 26th.
At the interview, they requested that a document be translated to English by an official translator and they kept the passport. We submitted the translation on April 20th. On the 30th they asked for another translated document, which we sent on May 12th. On the 13th our status changed from REFUSED to ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING, then on May 17th changed to ISSUED. |

We arrived an hour early and was able to enter quickly into the consulate. After a very long wait, we were the last to be interviewed. The consular officer was very friendly and good humored. She asked the typical questions and then let us know that we needed to submit a translated document (tradução juramentada) for approval. Everything was cleared a month later.
The only criticism I have is that they keep an instructional video on repeat nonstop in the waiting room - when you're waiting for hours, it can be a bit maddening.
Overall this is one of the best consulates I've had to deal with. |

Timeline Comments: 2 Hilde on 2021-03-26 said: Hello! Congratulations on your interview date. Did you request an expedite? Thanks!
Hi, yes I requested an expedite on Feb 17th, which was accepted on Feb 26th. I cited financial and emotional hardship.
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
