Visa approved!!! The consul was so nice. Did not ask for any tax info, just the basic civil docs. No need for photocopies. My medical went through.
Arrived very early at 8am for 9:30 appointment. Was not allowed to enter till 09:15. I waited by the bench by the fountain. Then went outside the door at 09:00. Was let in exactly at 9:15. Went through security. Door was very heavy
Went through security, asked for the passport and appointment letter, assigned me a number and asked to go up to 1st floor
Then waited for a short time for the number to be called. At the first window, was given immigrant rights paper information then he collected my civil docs and passport and he took my fingerprints. After that he told me to wait to be called
I was called by the consul and asked me the ff questions: Where did you meet? When did you meet? Did you ever live together? Any previous marriage? Any children? And then after that, he said everything is alright and that he will issue my visa. He said my passport will be back in 1-2 weeks.
I thanked him so much with a smile on my face tho wearing a mask. I was done by 09:39 |

Also curious how long it takes to receive the visa afterwards. Our interview is in 2 days.
We tried to expedite but was denied at NVC
I just received the email that passport will be delivered tomorrow! Ceac status changed to issued today. Interview: Mar 31. Today is April 6 :)
WOW 1 week to mail?! That is amazing. It makes me so excited. 😠my wife's interview is tomorrow I'm trying to stay calm until we pass it. Thanks for your reply I will tell her!
Goodluck on your wife’s interview!!! Yeah they’re pretty fast with issuing visas. Im quite surprised myself. They literally did it within 3 working days. Since we’ve got the Easter holidays from Fri-Monday basically.
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
