Comments : Just got packet 4 and appt. date for interview. We need to wait 3 1/2 months for an interview? It's going to be almost 1 year to the day since we started this process and did most of the steps as quick as possible, so they are taking their time with our application!

Comments : The filing fee for the I-751 went up from $540 to $590 the day before I mailed it in, so got and RFE to send the right amount. Also, the NOA said my wife is going to get a 1 year extension on green card, not 10 years like I was expecting. Called USCIS and they explained it's part of the process, in case it runs past my when her green card expires. OK, no problem. Lifting of conditions approved, no intervue required.

Event Description

Embassy Review : I traveled to Thailand for my fiancees interview at the Embassy and I am glad I did. My wife (now) doesn't speak the best English and is shy. The Amercian interviewer and his Thai assistant weren't mean, but they weren't too helpful either. I could hear the interview, my wife was very nervious and messed up one answer and it was all down hill after that. The interviewer asked what year we met, she was thinking Thai calendar and the interviewer was thinking western calendar. He could have asked how many years we knew each other, maybe? He started digging in and probing her answers, which made her more nervious. I had to walk up to the interview, tell them she was nervious and confused and straighten out some of the answers. If I was not there to do this, they probably would have denied her fiancee Visa. Keep that in mind if your fiancee might react the same. Oh, it didn't seem like they read any of the paper work we submitted before the interview, just looked at it for the first time at the interview.
Rating : Poor

Local US CIS Office Review: Honolulu HI

Event Description

Embassy Review : We have found that all our dealing with the local CIS office have been very cordial and professional. Our AOS interview was very easy. It helps if you have all your paper work well organized all the way from I-129F submission for a K-1 on. The interviewer just asked a few basic questions, how, where and when we met, how my wife liked living in the area, what she was doing (taking English classes helped). They didn't even question my finances or anything.
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
