Hello E & K,
Congratulations on your K1 visa process. It seems that your case is being processed smoothly, and we hope & pray that it stays that way. Did you guys get the date for the interview yet? What seems to be the wait time for US embassy at Mumbai to process the interview for K1 visa process?

We tracked our NVC case status at ceac.state.gov. As soon as the consulate received it, we submitted the DS-160 and created an account at www.ustraveldocs.com. We kept checking for interview slots and in late July we were able to get one for August 20th.
We never received any letter from the consulate. The packet 4 that people talk about is posted here https://in.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/71/MumbaiIVPacket-4-for-Ks-January-2017-Rev.pdf

Hey, congratulations to you on getting your visa :).
Is Mumbai processing K1 visas normally or are only emergency cases are being processed? The website says only emergency cases for all visa types. Did you show any such reason?

Family based visas included K-1 are being processed. We did not apply for an emergency exemption.

Thank you for your response :)

Hello E&K, Thanks for the response. Please bear with me as we are also trying to time this situation, lot of delays going on right now due to Covid:
1. Were you guys able to get the appointment at the US embassy just with DS-160 confirmation? We have the case number from NVC and thinking of submitting DS-160 and start the appointment process. Did you need any special letter (package 4) from Embassy to get interview appointment?
2. Did you need any special letter from embassy to schedule medical appointment, or was DS-160 confirmation was suffice? I understand that medical (Rele's clinic) will provide sealed envelop. How much time did they take to provide the sealed envelop?
3. Did you already have the Police verification done before hand? Did that help you?
4.

Received a "courtesy email" from the Atlanta field office on 24 March 2023 informing us that we did not submit the I-693 form and medical examination report.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
** Not all cases are transfered
