Comments : We were in non-citizen line and since the citizen line was empty we were directed to go there and the officer was very nice and asked about wedding plans. Then we were directed to secondary interview area. There were lots of people standing and sitting down but they provided us drinks and a snack. In 40 minutes and few questions later my fiancee step on the US soil but 100 degree F temperature different on that January evening.

Consulate Review: Sri Lanka
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : November 7, 2007
Embassy Review : I 129 F petition approved and consulate didn't notify my finacee. I initiated a request and the consulate notified me that they have send the packet. After a reasonable time my finacee contacted the consulate since she didn't get the packet. The consulate ask her to come get the packet form the embassy and had already assigned an interview date. When my fiancee went to get the packet they have advanced the interview date for two more weeks. She was able to gather all the documents and went for the interview on 10/16/07. As of 11/07/07 she has not received her passport with the visa stamp on it. The consulate kept saying that the visa printer is not working. I suspect that the police report has not arrived in the embassy and most likely they just don't want to say anything.
Rating : Moderate

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
