Consulate Review: Montreal, Canada
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : July 22, 2021
Embassy Review : it went smooth. I was asked for marriage certificate, police certificate and birth certificate. Nothing else. During the interview portion I was asked the basic questions but when asked about if I’ve ever been turned around at the border I answered truthfully and said yes. Offered the paperwork I had for it. The interviewer was typing the whole time and got up and went to the printer and came back and said I’m sorry I have to refuse you until I can look into something. He said it shouldn’t take long and to watch for updates on ceac. About 5 hrs later my status changed from refused to issued. Such a relief.
Rating : Good

POE Review: CDN-USA Border
Event Description
Entry Date : 2021-08-12
Embassy Review : Crossed at derby line Vermont at 12:05am. The place was a ghost town with only a few officers on duty. Unfortunately for me it wasn’t a quick process with checks and double checks and what seemed to be phone call after phone call to activate my visa. I did end up getting the IR1 stamp which is great but I was there until 2am and didn’t get home to Maine until 5:30am
Harassment Level : Moderate

Hello! It appears that we have similar timelines. Have you heard anything lately? I'm guessing, based on others' timelines, that our interview should be scheduled relatively soon...

I wish I had more info for you but it seems we are on the cusp and should be next in line for interviews. But when we will get them I don’t know. Do you follow the Montreal page on here?

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
