Got processed as a B2. Had to go to CBP in Birmingham and had a whole hassle getting it fixed as k1. People at the detroit POE knew a lot about k1 so how they screwed that up, I dont know. |

Had an RFE for the medical. Instead of sending my medical, I submitted proof with the I-693 instructions that I did not need one. I was approved shortly after. |

Yeah so this was an adventure lol. Entered on k1 and they seemed super knowledgeable at the border so I had no worries. I was pretty confident that everything went correctly. This I guess is where I was wrong.
I later when to get a SSN so online I went to find my I-94, which.. wasn't there. This was well after the two weeks so I ended up having to drive over an hour away to the local CBP office. Apparently, theres a number on the visa after entry that should be your I-94 number, so the person helping me was back there for awhile inputting different things. He comes out and tells me they screwed it up pretty big, not only did they process me as a b2 after entry and not k1, but the I-94 number they wrote doesn't even exist. That it seems like they got to the last step and didn't even hit submit, but that if they didn't hit submit they wouldnt have that number so the dude was absolutely dumbfounded at how they screwed this up. He said he's only seen the same thing happen once before, and it was also at the Detroit POE.
There was no harassment so to abide by the difficulty rating i'll put 0, however, this was a terrible experience so id not recommend this POE to others. |

Timeline Comments: 3Congratulations !!!!!!!!
Did it come in the form of email notification? During business hours? Again congrats
Did you not even expedite your employment authorization? How did it take so little time!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
