My interview was for 8am. Got there mega early at 6:45. One hot chocolate later I was back at 7:05. There were now two people in front of me. At about 7:30 the security came out.
At reception I was given my number I900 which was stuck onto my appointment letter. I was the first ‘I’ number. Rows and rows of seats to choose from. There were only about four of us in the room at this point.
They started calling the ‘N’ numbers first at probably just before 8. About 10 mins in I’m called to window 14. They had my file. I could see my daughter’s medical and my medical docs and underneath was the K-1 pack that Ricky had sent in. I was then informed that they didn’t know where the papers were that I sent in with the IV checklist (charming!). Luckily, I had copies of EVERYTHING with me including all the DS forms etc. Gave her what I had she took it and made copies for their files. I signed where she told me to sign (I don’t think I signed the copies I kept for myself). She asked for all my documents – gave them over.
Paid for visa.
Waited about 30 mins then to window 16. Absolutely LOVELY CO. I’m sure it’s the gentleman that has been mentioned on here before (older and extremely pleasant). He asked me when we got engaged and how long we had been together and who travelled to see who and how often. He also asked where I was going. Told him Atlanta and he said it must popular – I’m the second one today. He said “that’s fine.. I’m going to right ahead and approve this” (yay me!). He asked when we planned to travel and explained about the envelope. Talked about schools etc. He then send “that’s it we’re all done here you can go and pay the courier”. He said the visa would take 3-5 days.
That interview stage took about 5 minutes. Went to pay the courier. I opted for the before 10:00am service as I can’t guarantee anyone will be home any other time to get it.

We got in the slowest queue EVER but when we got to the counter it was a breeze. He only asked if we'd ever met. Then we talked about my job a bit. He peeked in the brown envelope and sent us to secondary.
At secondary I handed over my package. Was asked to take a seat. I could see the officer going through my papers. After about 10 minutes he called us over. He toldme I had to get married within 90 days and then gave me back my passport. I then went to get my luggage. |

Had my interview last Thursday and to say it was a breeze would be an understatement. The lady was lovely and it was basically a chat. She only really asked us how met and about the travelling back and forth. Alot of convo about teenagers (my daughter) and their musical "tastes" lol
I took quite a bit of evidence and she didn't even look at any of it. I was like "can you just look at something? Take something?!" she said I had so much in my file already there was no need. Finally, she gave in and said if you have wedding pictures I'll look at those (yay). So she looked at maybe two and complimented my dress and that was it.
Our appointment was for 10:15 (well, my daughter was 10:15 and I had 11:00). We got there at 9.35. At reception at 9.40 and out the door at 10.15.
They don't wear uniforms and it seems like you have the interview in their office. It was a pleasant experience. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
