Hey, did you not need to do the Packet 3 information? I'm still waiting for my info and wondering if I can proceed without it

So I had received notice from the NVC that our package was being sent to the consulate. It was at that point my fiance scheduled her medical. After a week or so, we then checked the CEAC portal for our case status and the status was: READY. This was after the consulate had received our package from the NVC. My advice would be to keep checking the CEAC portal once you know your package has been sent to the consulate. Then schedule an interview once you see the ready status on CEAC. We somewhat lucked out as our letter from the consulate confirming we could book an appointment arrived a few days prior to the interview.

So did you know all the packet 3 requirements prior to getting it, so had it all sorted? I'm tempted to do the same as you then - book a medical and interview soon and then fingers crossed for the letter in the mail

Yeah so my understanding is that the packet 3 only contains a letter from the consulate to the beneficiary saying "You can now book your appointment". We had planned on just bringing the letter I received (the petitioner) from the NVC saying that the case had been sent to the consulate but we ended up receiving packet 3 prior to attending the interview. As soon as we saw the case status, through the CEAC portal, was "READY", we immediately booked an interview. My advice would be to do the same. You can find through visa journey all the items you will need to bring to the interview. Package 3 does not contain any new information other than notifying you that you can book.

You didn't have to do any police background checks or anything? I thought that was one of the requests in the packet three! I've just paid for mine... Woops I'll do that tho. Thanks for your advice!

No you absolutely need to have a background check and all other necessary items. Make sure you bring everything required to the interview.

My point is, you can find out what items you need to bring online. No need to wait for packet 3 to start gathering what you need.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
